@Tod ********
the OP is already on amnesty (said it in the comments).

Any news or reported cases on whether he can get the 60 days while already on amnesty?

Thats to say "revert back" from amnesty onto hard visa days?

And whether they backdate the extension or issue it on the day u apply (which would mean the more u wait the better... use up amnesty then the 60 days... although i suspect is backdated or nothing... since the immigration concept is "uninterrupted visa stay")

@Tod ********
any updates on this scenario? (From any office)

AKA: People with multi-entry (marriage) Non-O on amnesty

Any way to get off the amnesty onto a 60 day family extension (whether backdated or not)? (Yes... shouldve/couldve... but didnt at the time)

Apparently being on actual (visa+extension) days would give us some options?

Whereas being on amnesty we have no options (it seems)
@Jamie ********
did u manage to ask any of this at Samut Prakarn?

@Jamie ********
exact same scenario.

Also at Samut Prakarn.

Would greatly appreciate the update.

If (and only IF) we got the 60 day extension (regardless whether backdated or issues on the date applied for):

Does that prevent u from getting another extension at the end of the 15 months?

I know normally id make no sense to extend each entry... as one can bounce and get 90

But in this situation (hipotethically) could one get more than one 60 day extension during those 17 months? (Lets say u rather pay 1900 than bounce for whatever reason)

Have many friends who had this done in Kota Baru.

Maybe im wrong, but in their case it was a 2 trip thing.

The 1 year multiple entry Non-B requires that u already have a Work Permit.

So for that, they first had to come in on a 90 day single entry Non-B... get the Work Permit sorted in those 90 days, and then go to Kota again (now with the WP) and apply for the 1 year multiple entry.

Why not extend (from the original 90 day single) inside? Cuz they didnt have the 4 Thai employees bla bla etc

Hi
@Penelope ******
I have a German passport (my father is German) even tho i never lived there nor speak German (sorry! I know i should!!)

Anyway... i was born in Argentina.

You do NOT loose your German citizenship if you acquire Thai nationality because you adhere to the jus soli rules.

This "rule" says to can keep your German citizenship because your "other" nationality is based on the fact that you were born there.

You WOULD loose German citizenship if you became American, or Canadian or any other nationality by "choice" lets say.

But you didn't "choose" to be born in Thailand, hence the law.

You can read more here (in German) ;)

Why would she?

The man is the one who financially supports the family.

⬆️

THIS is so ridiculous...

Especially in a country where u see women working the farm, or construction, (not to say prostitution), to support their kid (and the buffalo) and their bf/husband just chillin' getting drunk on lao-khao.

@Steven **************
hi there.

Quick question since i was following a previous post of yours... the "it was brutal" post:

Would u suggest doing what u did?

Asking cuz u ended that post saying "i would get a 1 year multi-entry... much easier"

Now this OP is on a year multi-entry

Wouldn't it be best for him to wait for borders to reopen and bounce?

For someone who is married and has both options: what would u suggest? (Covid aside since it won't last forever)

Based on the comments with
@Stuart ********
(who advised u correctly) you are confusing 2 very different scenarios:

1- u get a SINGLE 90 day Non-O with the intent to then EXTEND inside Thailand.

In that case u will need the 400k in ur account for 2 months, bla bla...

Then they extend those 90 days to 1 year.

In THAT case if u ever leave u need re-entry(s) and u also need to do 90 day reports.

2- u get a 1 year multiple entry visa.

That gives u a window of 1 year to come in/out as many times as u want... and a max stay of 90 days at a time.

No re-entry needed no 90 days reports.

(TM30 applies for both scenarios)

With option 2 u could get up to 17 months out of that visa.

If u leave and come back on day #364 u would still get 90 days as the visa is still valid.

Thats 15 months.

Then an extension inside TH based on family for 1900 baht.... another 2 months.

Whether scenario 1 or 2 depends.

Most of the people that use option 2 is cuz they dont have the 400k... OR.... they dont really live in TH. Just come here often... so the whole no-90 days no-reentry is great for them.

Option 1 is more convenient if u do have the 400k and plan to live in TH most of the year without having to leave every 90 days.

Also: i would strongly recommend Ho Chi Minh instead of Savanaket

They do NOT check financials, very few people, and a GREAT city to enjoy while waiting for it all to be done.

Same turnaround: 1 day hand in..... if anything missing they will tell u (nice people at thay consulate) if all OK they receive all and 200USD

Next day pick up after 13hrs

Not sure what u mean by "link my account"

Are u talking about using K-Plus as direct debit?

Why not use the debit card u were given with the account?

Do u already have the K-Plus App all logged in and working?

Teaching NonBs have a set of "common requirements" and them some additional requirements based on whether its a government school, private, international, what levels are taught... etc

But all required paperwork is VERY clearly stated in the attachment (taken out of the Vientianne Consulate website)

Not sure where you took the english requirements from but i wouldnt hold the Consulate responsible... rather your school for not taking the time to read.
