Only possible benefit to change to spouse extension atm is if he suddenly loses his job, Spouse extension will allow him to stay without working/between jobs.Empioyment isn't mandatory for thai spouse/ext, just proof of funds.

But same can be said if wife suddenly divorce, He can stay on b visa/extension.

7 spouse extensions at Changwatanna. Personally for non o spouse.. Never had a home visit. Used same passport photos for 3 years. One year collection was delayed 2 hours because imm officer forgot to sign stamp in my passport..

Rules seem to vary between individual officers.

Beware the IO at CW with the lazy eye. A headache. Made an issue over everything.. until wife berated her for being petty. Wife is CFO of one of thailands biggest companies. All smooth since then.

Bring everything plus copies and normally it's ok.

If you are doing extension in Bangkok at Changwatanna office, under consideration period is 21 days, if that helps.

If you aren't recieving any money regarded as "accomodation fees" it's fine.

Been a big issue at my building as dozens of condos here are owned by investors who can't sell or their rent request is too high. So the place has become a hotel recently. Banned here by law in Our building but management seems to turn a" blind eye" when brown envelopes arrivé with guests.

Sounds like a miscommunication and you were advised to have 20k baht or equivalent when re entering thailand. They aren't immigration and have no place giving you anything more than advice. If you did have an overstay fee, you would have had to pay it before leaving thailand. Them taking a photo is a bit strange, probably covering their arse if you get denied entry.

@Far****
. 3 years of experience during g your degree doesn't count as experience in the job market , you were still learning If that is what you refer to as experience. Eg . I did a 4 year apprenticeship. My time during that meant nothing even after qualifying. Wasn't deemed experienced until years after post trade.

A bachelor's degree these days, especially here, doesn't mean a lot at your age. 90% of
****
staff here need one to get job there. A degree doesn't equal expertise or experience anywhere. It just shows the ability to stick at one task long term in one field. Experience after that is where it matters

Tax laws have nothing to do with immigration so your "opinion " from someone at Imm is moot. It's a Revenue Dept thing. How do I assume this? ? My Thai wife is an accountant, tax certified, and External Auditor . Aus has a dta with Thailand. Any money you send to Thailand once that has been taxed already inOz isn't taxed again here.

@Nick ******
the sooner you realise officials here would rather lie than confirm their incompetence, the easier life here will be. It's a face saving thing.
