Another success story from Hanoi - after 2 years on ED visa I was a bit worried, but I got my DTV and entered succesfully through DMK in Bangkok - no question asked. This group helped me a lot applying for my DTV visa, so I too want to contribute. Below are all the details:

Embassy: Hanoi

Category: Workcation (sorry, I forgot which subcategory I picked, not sure if freelancer or company - but my company is registered in my country as Sole proprietorship = 1 person "company")

Time: 7 days = 5 working days

Timeline:

20th April (late night): Applied & paid

21st April: Pending document check

22nd April: Pending Approval

27th April (evening): Approved

> NOTE: I got approved on Sunday, and since there were numerous similar reports (some even mentioned they received visas on official holidays), it seems like the embassy is working also on weekends, and probably also during holidays in some limited mode. So don’t lose hope, you really can receive your visa anytime.

Documents:

1. Proof of current location: 3-page PDF:

- booking of hotel in Vietnam (for 5 nights)

- stamp from Viet immigration

- my Viet e-visa

2. Financial evidence: 10-page PDF:

- last 6 months of bank statements

- also added a screenshot from the current (unfinished) month of April, as I've applied ~ 20th

> NOTE1: I had ~ 600k on my bank account for around 3 months, not 6

> NOTE2: I did not translate stataments to English, as that would be an enormous amount of work (translating 20+ pages of PDF, without breaking layout is not fun…), but it didn’t matter. All I did was highlight the ENDING monthly balance + my monthly paycheck.

3. Portfolio: 16-page PDF:

- Portfolio: 3 pages, just screenshots from my (web) portfolio

- Payslips for the last 6 months: 6 pages

- Proof of my company/business registration: 2 pages

> NOTE: I did translate this one, as it’s quite important, and attached BOTH the original and translated versions.

- Letter to allow myself to work remotely from TH: 1 page

> NOTE: Since my company is a Sole proprietorship, I wrote myself a generic letter that I allow myself to work remotely, my role is this and that, and that if there are more questions, you can contact me any time at a@b.c. There are many examples, so just search this group

- CV: 2 pages

- Screenshots from LinkedIn: 2 pages

Summary:

I made sure all the documents looks nice + I also added a little table of content at the beginning of each document - I think it's quite useful, if you have 10+ pages. I didn’t want to leave anything to chance. It was quite exhausting, and I’m glad it’s over, but it paid off ;)

Useful tools: Use smallpdf.com for merging and editing PDFs. It's not perfect, but I didn't find anything better.

IMPORTANT: Double, triple, quadruple-check your application with fresh eyes before submitting! It’s a lot of documents, a lot of work, mistakes can happen. For instance, I discovered a tiny mistake on my 3rd and final check, so just to be sure, I made a 4th one again lol.

FOR NON-ENGLISH SPEAKERS: Looks like you don’t need to translate everything to English. I only translated my business license, and that was enough. I’d go crazy if I had to translate, let alone notarize, all 30+ pages of financial evidence and portfolio!

Good luck to everybody!

Does anyone have a list of docs that they submitted as professional freelancer portfolio that led to the approval of a DTV visa? Im a producer, I go to Asian countries like Korea and search for source material and unique IP to license and bring back to the US to pitch and remake in Hollywood.

Important to note my pay comes from closing deals, I’m not a 9-5 worker and some deposits from a closed deal are months in between.

Here’s what I have but unsure if it’s enough or even what they want;

-bank statements (Wise) that reflect more than the amount of 500,000 THB.

- a 2025, 1099 from one of the clients for a sale with amount of sale

- letters with letterheads from Hollywood producers and companies stating intentions to do business and what kind of business (format business) and with who (Webtoon, Tapas, Netflix, Gordon Ramsey, Teddy Zee, etc)

- Articles from Variety and Deadline that state my move to bring formats from Asia to the US

- my companies articles of organization as an LLC

- LinkedIn profile link

What else should include in this if any? This has been so confusing and was about to pay for a visa attorney to do it but thought I’d ask here first.

Any help would be super appreciated! Thanks! I’ll have to name anyone who helps in my next TV Drama 😂

Hello. I have just applied for the DTV and when I was asked for current location proof (I apply from my homecountry) I put bills, bank statement with adress and national id. Will it be enough?

What is possible to apply for my kids as a proof of location? They haven't any id and the adress isn't written in the passport...

Thank you for your help🙏

Hi everyone, these are the documents I have on hand in preparation of the application of DTV in Hanoi. I am a Singapore passport holder. Appreciate if all the kind folks here can advice If they are sufficient:

1. Original employment contract, signed off back in 2021 when I was promoted to be the Director of the company. The nature of my work allows me to work remotely from anywhere.

2. 6 months bank statement, maintaining a minimum balance of THB700,000 equivalent.

3. 6 months payslip, showing that I have been drawing a regular salary from the company even when I am working remotely.

4. Certificate of Employment, signed off by my Regional CEO, indicating my term of employment, annual salary package and my position in the company.

5. Authorisation letter, signed off by my Regional CEO, stating that I am authorised to work remotely from any country in Asia.

6. Monthly contributions to my pension account in Singapore.

7. Tax returns for the 2022 and 2023. Showing that I am drawing a minimum salary of USD83,000 every year.

What are my chances of getting my DTV approved?

Just wanted to say thank you to this lovely community for all the support and useful info. Got our DTVs approved today. In case anyone's wondering:

Where: Royal Thai Embassy Hanoi, Vietnam

Dates: Filed on Oct 15th (me) and 16th (boyfriend) and got our approvals today on Oct 21st.

Documents provided aside from the obvious:

* for financial proof: at least 3 months of back bank statements showing more than 500k baht (spread across multiple different currencies) / additionally I showed proof or some money I have invested and I think so did my boyfriend + in the cover letter I also stated that I own a property back home

* for work proof: a short cover letter explaining: what I do for a living and that I can do it 100% online, that I've attached bank statements and clients contracts and an explanation why I'm applying + 2 contracts with my clients + a certificate from one of my clients basically stating that I work online and that I'm an invaluable asset to their company + a pdf of my website showing examples of my work. My boyfriend did the same but a pdf of the website of the company he works with and circled in red a photo of himself in the "employees" section lol

Approved without any requests for additional info yayy.

If anyone has any questions, hit me up! I'll probably be making a video or 2 about the experience for my socials in case anyone's interested (shameless plug) - @nomadicmarta 🤣

Applied for evisa from Vietnam (HCMC) and it got approved last night. I applied last friday evening the 11th of october. On tuesday they requested additional docs. And this morning i woke up to see that the visa got approved last night.

Since I applied on friday night, and monday was a national holiday, it only took 2 working days to get my visa approved. It could have been just 1 working day, if I delivered the right documents the first time.

I applied as a remote worker as I have my own digital marketing business, so what I did was i just made a little document explaining what I do, who i work with, what my goals are in thailand, etc.

Then I just added a couple links to my main website and a link to some client case studies, but the problem was that my site is in Dutch, as i serve Dutch and Belgium clients.

So they requested additional information with the remark that everything should be in English or Thai. After that, I spent an hour or 2 to translate some key pages on my website to English. I also added a link to my Google My Business profile.

After this adjustment the visa application got approved.

For proof of location i uploaded another bank statement where I highlighted a recent ATM transaction in Da Nang.

Hi folks! I need the help of people who are in the same position as me.

💻💼 I will apply DTV under Workcation category in Jakarta. I do my job online (working as a fitness trainer, providing training plans for specific goals) and I am director of my own company.

👉🏻 What should I include into my application to minimize the risk of rejection? Below, you can see my plan. If you think it's not enough, can you help me to make it better with your recommendations? Much appreciated! Lots of love ❤️

📃 My Application Plan:

1- Employment Certificate (written by me, to myself)

2- My Company ID

3- Invoices from clients

4- Signed letters from clients proving that I provide them online coaching service

5- Link of my Website
