TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about obtaining a 60-day extension for their NON O marriage visa, which requires a border run every 90 days. They want to know if they can apply for this extension due to an upcoming end of amnesty on July 31. Several comments confirm that the extension can be applied for at an immigration office before the amnesty ends, advising not to wait until last minute and recommending verification of specific immigration procedures and requirements.

if you have sufficient funds in an account (400k) and its been in for a few months then get the 12 month extension of stay. Below is what we took. Need photocopies of everything and we also got the multi Re-entry visa after we finished so that I can go in and out the country if the restrictions are ever lifted

1. Visa Extension Form (TM.7)

2. Passport or Travel Documents

3. Non-Immigrant Visa

4. Marriage Certificate. Pink part and a second sheet (not sure what it's called)

5. Thai wife's ID Card

6. House register of Thai wife

7. Children's Birth Certificate (This I took as we have a kid but not sure needed)

8. Letter from Thai Bank certified money in thai account more than 400,000 Baht 2 months before, bank book and update bank book on the day.

9. Map to Home (Google Maps)

10. Family Photo - Silly photos sat on sofa, in bedroom and outside from door of home.

11. Medical Insurance (I have Pacific)

@John *****
I never needed a bank statement, just the letter from the bank and copies of the bank book. What is the Kor Roh 3? Is that one of the pages to do with marriage certificate?
Tod *********
@Steven ***************
The two thai marriage documents are called a Kor Ror 2 and a Kor Ror 3.

One is the "suitable for framing" rose bordered one (Kor Ror 3) and the other is just a form in thai that says you're married (Kor Ror 2) . That's the one they sometimes ask for a new one of, because you could have gotten divorced and still had the old one and the rose bordered one.

ANY amphur can access your marriage records (if you were married here) and print a new Kor Ror 2

Looks like this

@Tod ********
We didn't have the Ror 2 with us but my mrs popped off to local district off near chaeng Watthana and got it printed off. She was back in 20 mins and didn't even give me chance to finish my curry
Tod *********
@Steven ***************
right it's all online now, and she went to the Laksi Amphur which is just down the street. That's where they send everyone to get it printed off. I think it cost 20 baht

@Steven ***************
Yes, the Kor Roh 3 is obtained at the local Ampur, it certifies that you are still married, costs about 30 baht .... again it has to be dated close to the application date, only takes about 20-30 minutes depending on the crowd ...
John ******
@Steven ***************
Also Kor Roh 3 and TM30 ..... no insurance required. Bank Statement no more than 7 days old, Bankbook updated that day, with copies of eveything, signed in blue ink ...... in Chiang Mai at least, 4Weeks ago

I don’t have 400k but I have proof of income like payslip more than 40k baht
Steven ****************
@Canice *****
above my pay grade now. I think it's fine but I don't know what proof you need to confirm you officially have it. Someone can likely advise if the 1 year extension is what your after

@Steven ***************
I asked embassy, I need to get a letter from my country embassy. Last month I went to roi et immigration they only mentioned 400k, but didn’t mention about 40k income (payslip). I will ask again once I done the 60 days extension
Tod *********
@Canice *****
, what country is your passport from? AND do you legally work INSIDE thailand with a valid work permit?
Canice ******

@Tod ********
Singapore. I don’t work in thailand. I work under Singapore company.. basically I stay at home and work for a company in Singapore. But every 4 months I go back singapore 1 time
Tod *********
@Canice *****
then ask the singapore consulate here if they can give you an affidavit of income from abroad notary letter that states you get over 40K baht a month in income. IF they cannot provide it you're stuck and you need to show 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply for your yearly extension

@Tod ********
yup they allow. But not sure roi et immigration ok with the 40k baht. Have to check with them when I going to extend 60 days
Tod *********
you don't need any medical insurance to get a year extension based on marriage to a thai
@Ste***
;)
Steven ****************
@Tod ********
I always get carried away and take a lil extra. Quite surprised though that it's not a standard requirement for issuing long term visas.
Tod *********
Okay, here's how that works

IF you are on a year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa based on marriage to a thai where you bounce out and in every 90 days BUT due to the country being closed you can't bounce now, when your current 90 day stamp expires you automatically go onto amnesty and will be allowed to stay until no longer than the 31st of July.

BUT

IF you showed up at the immigration office BEFORE the amnesty runs out you COULD apply for a 60 day visit thai family extension (which doesn't require proof of funds) based on marriage to a thai for 1900baht.

Keep in mind though some immigration offices let you get that 60 day visit thai family extension on every entry on a visa (meaning you could get it every time you came in on a new 90 day stamp) BUT some allow you to only get it once per VISA (meaning you could get it ONCE on any of the 90 day entries from your visa but then you'd be done until you got a new visa issued)

CHECK with your immigration office.

DO NOT wait until the last day of amnesty to get the 60 day extension, I'd say go the last week at the latest.
Federico **********
@Tod ********
the OP is already on amnesty (said it in the comments).

Any news or reported cases on whether he can get the 60 days while already on amnesty?

Thats to say "revert back" from amnesty onto hard visa days?

And whether they backdate the extension or issue it on the day u apply (which would mean the more u wait the better... use up amnesty then the 60 days... although i suspect is backdated or nothing... since the immigration concept is "uninterrupted visa stay")
Steven ***************
@Federico *********
. It isn't backdated. I have done the above myself. I got a yearly extension after a 60 day visit family extension, even though it had expired a month previously. The amnesty filled the gap.
Federico **********
@Steven **************
greatly appreciate your help.

As well as
@Tod ********
paramount advice.

Unfortunately dont meet the year extension requirements ($).

Being that its 60 days from date of it being issued it seems the smartest thing would be waiting till the last days of amnesty (whether that means July 28-29-30) or if it gets then whenever that day is...

That way the 60 days will push me closer to a (posible) date that i can bounce (non-o multi)
Tod *********
@Federico *********
(y) I answered that and he can indeed to on amnesty, and then go to the immigration office the last week of amnesty he should be able to get a 60 day visit thai family extension for 1900baht and that would take him thru the end of Sept
James **************
When does your 90 days finish?

Yes you can get 60 day extension from immigration.

You should go to immigration and ask wether you need to do the extension now or just before the amnesty ends.

You dont want your 90 days to run out and then not be able to get an extension.

Better to be safe.

Mine area they ask me to wait until 31 July for update.
Corinne *********
I have also the same 90 days problem. In Phuket, they just told me to go to the border as soon as they open it. I didn't t receive an extension. I'm legal until 30 July.
James **************
@Corinne ********
yes, thats why my immigration office told me to extend it before the 90 days was up. I was going to wait until the end of july, but luckily enough i went to go check with them.

I have read that some offices have told people to go back to get the extension near the end of july.

Like i said before, up to the immigration office, they all do things differently.
