Just arrived with the dtv for a 6 month muay Thai course .. when I leave at the 180 days do I have to have a new course to come back in on or will I be able to just reenter as it is a multiple entry visa and also will they ask to see the 500k baht in your bank account ?
Me again folks... I started from scratch and got it right this time. I will apply for a non-immigrant O visa. I'm already in Thailand, as I said yesterday, so I plan to go to Vietnam in a few weeks to send my application to the thai embassy in Hanoi.
According to what I just read, it can take between 3 to 15 days to get the visa. Is that accurate in most cases? If not, it makes it hard to plan a return date.
Also, in the requirements it says I need financial evidence showing monthly income of no less than 65,000 THB, which I have. But the canadian embassy does no longer give a certificate of income. The pension fund I have gave me an official letter stating how much money I get from them monthly. Is that good enough for the thai immigration or will I need a balance of 800,000 THB (e.g., bank statements for the last three months, sponsor letter)? Thanks again for your help, it's very appreciated.
How do I start the process of getting a retirement visa? I am a 55 yr old veteran ready to make the move. All serious help is welcome. Thank you in advance.
How difficult is it to apply for Non-O visa while in Thailand. I gather you can only open bank account with this visa, in order to deposit 800000tbht for retirement visa?
What’s the typical price for using an agent? My husband will deposit his 800000baht but I would like to use my retirement pension.
Another question how do I go about using my retirement pension to satisfy requirement (800000 baht). I plan on retiring 5/26 and relocating by 7/26. Just trying to figure things out, please advise, if you can..
I am currently on a Non-O visa based on age (Bangkok Immigration) and plan to switch banks. I want to ensure the process goes smoothly without disrupting my visa status.
Planned steps:
1. Transfer 400,000 THB from the old bank to the new bank six months into my current extension.
2. Once the first transfer is confirmed, transfer another 400,000 THB.
Documents I plan to prepare for visa renewal:
a. Old Bank:
• Bank letter confirming the account.
• Bank statement showing both transfers (up to the day after the second transfer).
• Updated bank book showing the balance after the second transfer.
b. New Bank:
• Bank letter confirming the account.
• Bank statement starting from the day before the two transfers to show the incoming funds and balance of 800K at least 3 months before the extension date.
• Updated bank book showing the balance as of the visa renewal date.
I guess my question are:
1. Do i need to keep the old bank open until the extension renewal, or showing the overlap of transactions between old and new bank is good enough? (Will not keep old bank)
2. Which banks have a branch in Chaeng Wattana where I can update my Bank book (I heard Kasikorn closed their branch there).
I'm a US Citizen, currently in the US, planning to come to Thailand in Jan 2026. I'm eligible for 2 types of long stay visas:
1. O-A: Been on this twice, last one expired in Dec 2024
2. O-X: Like this better since it gives me 5 years in Thai and need to report less often. Never been on this.
I already have a bank account in Thailand. VISA Agents please contact me to advice and start process. I think I can only get O-A from the US, not sure if I can apply for O-X in Thailand (I'll can come as a tourist and convert).
I applied for a DTV Visa in Ho Chi Minh and it just got rejected. I had all the necessary documents from my Muay Thai school and showed them over 40k€ over 3 months of bank statements. The only reason I can think of why I got rejected is because I'm currently unemployed and they might be worried that 40k isn't enough for 5 years. But then again the requirment for the visa is 500k which is much less than what I have.
Now my question is can I try to apply straight away at another embassy? If so, which one is considered easier than Ho Chi Minh? I read on here that Ho Chi Minh is quite strict. Would it be a good idea to apply in Hanoi? That would be the most convenient for me as I'm already in Vietnam.
