ORIGINAL POSTER
Hi all 😊 I recently did a visa run to Vientiane, Laos for my teaching non-B on a South African passport.

If this post helps one person I'll be thankful because it was quite stressful being told I needed an additional document, at the application window and once I went to collect my passport again the next day!

I went without an agency and these were the documents I needed:

**REQUIRED DOCUMENTS LISTED ON THE EMBASSY WEBSITE:

**1. A completed and signed Visa Application Form

2. 2 passport-sized photos taken within 6 months

3. A passport or travel documents (valid for no less than 6 months)

4. An original letter of approval from a concerned government agency such as the Office of the Private Education Commission or the Office of the Basic Education Commission (Your school will have had to provide multiple document including a Thai police clearance to the department in order for you to receive this document from them.)

5. An original letter requesting for visa issuance, signed by the school director or an authorized person with the school seal/stamp (for international schools)

6. An original letter of acceptance from employing institution or school in Thailand (Employment contract).

7. A police certificate or an original letter of criminal record clearance issued from the country of applicant’s nationality or residence (valid for not more than three months and should be notarized by notary organs or a diplomatic or consular mission)

8. A curriculum vitae of a resume

9. An evidence of educational qualification such as diplomas or teaching certificates.

10. A school license or business registration, list of shareholders and school profile.

WHAT ELSE I NEEDED THAT WASN’T ON THE LIST:

1. Letter proving the school was owned by a company.

2. Company registration documents.

3. Document proving who all the directors of the company were.

4. Copy of principals ID, signed.

5. Thai police clearance.

6. Additional copy of passport

7. Copy of LAOS tourist visa received from the border crossing

WHAT I ALSO TOOK:

1. TESOL certificate and accompanying certificates

2. TOEIC result

3. Notarised and authorised certificate for my degree applied for in South Africa.

All the best to those doing theirs soon 🌸

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post provides a detailed account of the documentation required for a non-B visa application process at the Lao consulate in Vientiane for a teacher holding a South African passport. It lists both required documents as stated on the embassy's website, such as visa application forms and letters of acceptance from the school, as well as additional documents that were not listed but were necessary for the application. The author also shares insights on the stressful nature of the process and encourages others undertaking similar tasks.

Teaching NonBs have a set of "common requirements" and them some additional requirements based on whether its a government school, private, international, what levels are taught... etc

But all required paperwork is VERY clearly stated in the attachment (taken out of the Vientianne Consulate website)

Not sure where you took the english requirements from but i wouldnt hold the Consulate responsible... rather your school for not taking the time to read.
