Congrats on your upcoming retirement. Suggest you also look into Cambodia, Phils, Indonesia and Malaysia. In the meantime tourist visa to start. But once you finally decide Thailand then LTR if you can or Elite.

no problem. Since we can’t take pictures in that area I can only go by descriptions. Honestly I am a bit jealous of the elite visa simply because they take you to immigration fast track. With LTR you’re on your own…so today I waited in line for almost an hour at immigration.

out of curiosity is it to the left or right of the main immigration if you are facing the immigration officers/rope lines?

yes. Did it in bkk in person. Interestingly the immigration officer who stamped me in was very careful and took longer than usual. I think early days still. I’m learning too.
