Planning to relocate from the states sometime this November, we are checking out the Chang Mai area. We want a place that is not so touristy and more laid back.
Hey everyone any tips on how to found suitable cooking class near Chiang Rai please. Is there any online form on government website that give us the company list of where to go. It's for applying for DTV visa as I want to learn cooking class and Manufacturing food also from local during my possible long term stay in Thailand. Right now I am in north visiting and if all ok for DTV visa approved I will come back but I want to make sure all in right steps.
Border run number 3 on 9.12., land border to laos, Friendship bridge 4 near chiang rai. We went to Laos for 2minutes and come back. No question asked at thai border coming back.
I have been here now and dtv since 31.8.2024 never been asked anything on enter, I have used cambodia border 1st time, laos vientiane 2nd time, and now FB4. Every time is so easy ❤️
I always drive at the border myself, and cross the border walking with only wallrt and phone.
Dont be afraid of the trolls, dtv is cool 🥰🥰🥰
There was a posr about this FB4 borser before that they ask for every document. No, not from me.
Laos border control suggested me I dont have to enter Laos, can just go back, but I didnt want to take "the risk" of not entering another country. If I had more time, i would have tried, but I had a tight schedule for this trip
hello Has anyone tried Ban Huak border with DTV visa? Ban Huak Border is in phayao and it seems it is the nearest border from chiang mai. Has anyone tried ?
Hello, I’m planning to do a visa run to Laos from Chiang Rai, I have the DTV, but I’m seeing some people saying you have to stay in Laos for two nights, but I’m not sure if that is just for visa exemption/visa on arrival. Has anybody done this before and know how it works? Thanks in advance.
Just completed a DTV border bounce at Sop Ruak crossing at the Golden Triangle in Chiang Rai. Not Chiang Saen, nor Chiang Khong. Completed the whole process within an hour including waiting 10 minutes each way for a boat to cross the river. Visa on arrival fee in Lao was $40USD cash perfect condition notes scrutinized carefully, dunno what they would have asked in baht. Bring a passport size photo or pay $1. The Laos side of the crossing is called SLK. Big beautiful building but empty. The boat ride across was 100 baht one way for the Thai boat or you could spend 150 baht for the Chinese speed boat, I don't know why you would since it's only a 5-minute crossing. Zero questions asked either side and a seamless process.
I know certificate of residency has been discussed here before. However, I would like to start a thread of people's recent reports of acquiring one. I tried in Jan 2025 at Nakhon Pathom Immigration and was told no certificates for DTV holders.
For people who received one recently, please share which office you applied, what documents were needed, and a summery of the overall process.
Hey everyone, enjoy reading the posts here. I’m heading over to Thailand mid to end of July for around 5 weeks. Coming from Australia. Not a big partier. Would love to travel around a bit see as much as I can. And meet the local people. My question is quite broad, wondering what are the must see places to visit Also wondering if there might be something that needs to be done that often gets forgotten in preperation for the trip, even if you think it might be the simplest of things? Anybody recommend a travel insurance that’s suited for Thailand. Also thanks in advance for any replies.
Hi all. I’m in a long term rental in Chiang Rai and will be traveling to Bangkok next week. I’m sure the hotel will submit a TM-30. When I return, will I need to submit another TM-30?
