TLDR : Answer Summary
When reporting your 90-day residency in a different province than where you are registered, it is essential to ensure that your hotel or landlord has filed a TM30 form, which confirms your current stay in the new province. If this is done, you should be able to report your residency without issues. When you report, officials will check your passport for the registered address to confirm your status.

If you’re not reported it’s not gonna happen. I did mine yesterday the first thing she did is open my passport, find the address registration and go “Chonburi, ok.”

W Samurais. You said address registration. That's TM30. The 90-day report is different. To do a 90-day report in a specific immigration office, you need to have your TM30 filed there

how do you mean Steve? Can’t report in a different province? Ever?

sorry I’ve been out. Yes you can report anywhere as long as your address is registered there. I started in Ubon and reported there, moved to Pattaya and reported there, then got a job in BKK and reported there. But my address was updated as I entered each new province. This week I moved back to Pattaya and reported here this time.

thanks Bobby. Can address registration be transferred if one moves to another province for long term?
Bobby ********
W Samurais. It's a legal requirement to notify the local immigration office within 24 hours of your arrival, or its actually the responsibility of your hotel or landlord, but if it's not done it's you who ends up paying the fine!

Out of curiosity - how much is the fine?

Late filing fine is usually 2,000 baht. It can be that or 5,000 baht.

actually it depends on where as well as when. But for sure you don’t want to be filing late. It’s not the end of the world but it can be a major headache. So my trepidation is based on avoiding the whole headache to begin with.

yes but im referring to 90 day reporting.

It's fine if your hotel/landlord has filed a TM30 which indicates you are at present staying in the province
