TLDR : Answer Summary
To enter Thailand on a retirement visa (OA visa), a round trip ticket is not mandatory; travelers can enter with a one-way ticket. Holders of non-immigrant visas, including retirement visas, do not need an exit ticket. However, it's essential to have valid travel insurance, which is a requirement for entry, particularly if there's a double insurance requirement for those returning on an OA visa after a short trip abroad.

I am curious about the double insurance requirement.. It looks like OA visas with ~ a year left need to buy ~ a years travel insurance to enter (eg. After a short overseas holiday) with the Thai Pass. Even though they are already required to have full time, local health insurance for their visa.
my OX visa was stamped 2024 when I entered in 2019, on the surface, it looks like double insurance plus length of stay reduced π΅βπ«π€¦πΌ. (Assuming they wonβt stamp anyone past 1 year as that is all insurance companies will sell)
