Health Insurance question re: visa requirements. Anyone use an international plan? Specifically an American citizen? This plan then used for visa requirements and accepted? I’d like to have a plan that I can use in Thailand and USA.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the use of health insurance for American citizens applying for the O-A visa in Thailand. It highlights the challenges of using international health insurance policies, particularly those from the U.S., as these often require a certificate that may not be provided by many insurers. While some commenters note that international plans can be suitable for obtaining the initial visa in the U.S., extensions in Thailand typically necessitate policies from approved Thai companies. The conversation also touches on the criteria for different visa types and offers suggestions for finding suitable health insurance options.

Or do the NonO visa instead of nonOA since O does not require insurance which frees you up to get the insurance you want.

Depends on Visa type and International EXPAT health insurance plan covering USA is EXPENSIVE and not many companies offer it. PM me. I will give you my USA phone number to discuss with you and help you

Below the approved Medical Insurance companies for O-A visa application.
It doesn't officially has to be only from a Thai insurance company. But it's very difficult to get the foreign insurance certificate stamped and signed.

Most international polices that I have seen cover you anywhere in the world except the USA

You can get a Thai health insurance that will work outside Thailand, but those are normally a bit more expensive. If going for an insurance bought in the US for the O-A Longstay Visa, then it will be more problematic. You'll need a signed and stamped certificate specially designed for health insurances bought abroad for the O-A Visa, which most insurance companies refuses to sign.
