basically it's a matter of "self-insurance" like at hospital. They require payment before treat often.... If it requires you to liquidize stocks for example it's not liquid/cash, and may not be avoidable instantly without you don't much action

Bangkok Bank is the only Bank allowing officially non Visa holders to get bank accounts at least until recently.

Talk to a branch which has other foreign customers.

you're forgetting that you need the multiple return permits to. 9500+ 3800x5=

28,500 for 5 years retirement....

Yes, you can stay "indefinitely" as long as you keep renewing.

the problem is that DTV seems more attractive and cheaper than 5 years of retirement extensions. No yearly paperwork, actually a Visa with multiple entry so you don't need to get to reentry permits.

I would have hoped that they would have updated retirement extensions procedure, for example making clear that there's no tax implication, as we can't work here. But nothing changed.

But it's strange because you file other things online with immigration you get to download the forms filled in.

So we would have to trust that if there is a error reading the electronic information from the passport and because of that it doesn't match what is actually printed in the passport that they would verify this instead of rejecting you?

I don't know or understand why the DTV application is so different from all other applications for visas for Thailand...
