Has anyone gotten the DTV as a voice actor? I would think that would qualify as remote work for the purposes of the visa, right?

Happy to share that I received my LTR-P visa by email yesterday. It was a fairly simple process which did not need any Visa agency help. I am grateful to many in this group for providing guidance and helpful tips. Here is the timeline for my application:

April 23, 2025- Online application submitted to BOI with income and asset documents

April 28, 2025- Additional income documents requested by BOI. Had to submit the 2024 Form 1099 to support the income reported in 2024 tax return. Since I do not have any pension income, I was also asked to provide my investment portfolio which generated the passive income

April 29, 2025- Additional asset documents requested by BOI to verify liquid assets of $100K. The funds in Fidelity money market account was not acceptable

May 15, 2025- I submitted AXA insurance policy to avoid prolonged correspondences to prove that funds in Fidelity money market funds were fully liquid

May 29, 2025- Received email confirming my qualification endorsement

June 4, 2025- Received the qualification endorsement letter which was to be included with e-visa application

June 7, 2025- Applied online for e-Visa at Thai Embassy in Washington DC

June 11, 2025- Visa approval email received with e-Visa attached

Hi All. I have emailed the embassy in UK regarding a query I have. I work offshore in oil and gas on a rotational basis remotely and wondered if that would be a suitable occupation to be accepted for DTV in the remote category. Does anyone have any experience in this? My email to London Thai Embassy is as follows:

Hello,

I hope you're doing well. I work offshore remotely, and I'm writing to inquire if this is a suitable occupation to successfully get accepted for a Destination Thailand visa in the remote work category. Can you please provide more details on this and let me know if it's an option?

Thank you very much for your time and assistance. I look forward to your response.

Once I have a response, I'll share here. Thanks

Apparently as of May 1st Thai embassies in the US are requiring 3 months proof of access to 500,000 Bhat in liquid cash and they don’t recognize stocks or investments as liquid cash despite having instant access to them.

Has anyone encountered this yet?

I have the cash in the bank but moved it from my investments just over a month ago…

My husband, who is European just got DTV approved in UAE. He owns a company in Dubai and therefore holds a permanent residence card. He submitted DTV documents near the end of March when he left Thailand. He ended up providing them with 6 months of bank statements from a Thai Bank, as well as 3 months of statements from REVOLUT, his company registration papers in Dubai, Hong Kong, company profile, shareholder information, and a cover letter stating that he works online from Thailand, but travels all over Asia quite regularly on business trips. The original application included only basic info and screenshots so they came back to him 2x to ask for more financial information and company information. But it was approved very quickly after the supporting info was uploaded. He had previously been going in and out of Thailand every couple of weeks on visa exempt stamps for the past 3 years. Immigration told him to get a long term visa and they recommended the DTV for someone whose home base is Thailand but travels regularly for work. He's not the traditional online worker or influencer who receives a monthly salary so I thought this might help other people who are in a similar position.

Hello everyone, I left Thailand a week ago for Malaysia where I applied for a non-immigrant O visa (Thai wife). Unfortunately the process is longer than I expected. So I returned to Thailand with a visa exemption. My question is this : Can I return to Malaysia, collect my visa and then return to Thailand with the said visa ? Someone already did that ? Thank you

DTV application in Penang, Malaysia. Applied for a dependent visa for my daughter on my husband’s remote worker DTV.

Timeline: applied March 13. Approved March 24.

Visa fee: 1,600 MYR ($360 USD)

Nationality: American

We were emailed twice to request further documents: once on March 19 for a copy of father’s passport + a new visa photo with no shadow. Then again on March 21 for another new visa photo that was clearer. (We ended up taking a new photo on our phones of higher quality, since the other one was a scanned copy of a photo taken in a studio)

We were emailed the approval letter, which we printed and entered Thailand through Phuket a few days ago with no issues. No documents requested or questions asked at immigration upon arrival.
