hello everyone, please help,my visa has been cancelled today in Vietnam without reason, what should i do?

update,i took photo of every step, and i just check again,it's exactly the same as what I filled in my passport.

The only reason I can think of is that I did not write China as the place of issue, but the information I filled in is the same as in my passport, which is the province where I was born.and my friend also filled in the province, her application was approved in Jakarta.

The embassy was closed for the holiday. It was really frustrating that there was no specific reason for the cancellation in the email. I guess I will have to go to the embassy next Monday to ask for the reason.

The pop up for the 30th and 1st said they were maintenancing the site. They added sone things to the application like last port of embarcation and a few other things. I have been in Jakarta 2 weeks trying to get mine paid for without any luck. Maybe there were cancellations during or because of, but maybe not. I paused hitting apply again those days just to be sure. I stilk cant pay today though when I tried.

Chinese usually have 2 given names and NOT a middle name, are you sure you have written down your name as Ni-Ya and not Ni in the given name and Ya as a middle one?

Most Embassies emphasize very strongly that errors in the Passport data, has to be absolutly correct, as they are written in the machinereadable field at the bottom of the picturepage of the passport, and that errors can not be corrected, neither by the applicant not the Embassy staff, and error will result in rejection and loss of the visafee.

Also they inform there will be given no explanation of the rejection.

That’s one of the reasons why, it is so important to read the Embassy website thoroughly.

Call the embassy where you submitted. The number should be at the bottom of the website. I applied in Hanoi. Also do a search for “Vietnam” in this group and you will find instructions left by some that had success with their applications. Good luck 🙏

Hanoi embassy also work on weekends and holidays. That’s why they tend to be more efficient with faster approval times.

I had the same issue when applying for my DTV in Vietnam. You must have made some small typo when filling out the app. Only thing you can do is applying again unfortunately.

Possibly the passport place of issue?

What exactly does it say in your passport, and what did you enter in the form. Don't forget that the photo upload of your passport data page can override the data you manually entered, you must double triple check it and edit if necessary before submitting.

- one reason some are canceled is if you applied to the wrong consulate. Since Vietnam has the embassy in Hanoi and a consulate in HCMC, this has been an issue for some there. Also, do you have two first names? If so, did you list them both under the first name in the application or did you move one to the middle name slot?

i didn't make any mistake,i am sure about that, the owner of the Muay Thai gym said the most likely reason is that I am Chinese. They have been particularly strict with Chinese people recently. I will go to Jakarta to apply again.

if it wasn’t a clerical issue and they wanted to deny you, it would have been a rejection, not a cancelation. You had to have made a mistake or the app’s photo reader entered something incorrectly. Did you leave the middle name box empty? If not, others have said it should be and specifically Chinese applicants have been canceled for entering their second first name in the middle name box.

Ok, if you think that, then you might end up making the same unknown mistake in Jakarta. Best of luck.

Choose one:

1. Apply again at another embassy

2. Add everything you submitted in your application to your post and let the group members help you figure out what went wrong.

3. Change your application to another DTV type.

And make sure someone else didn't log in and cancel your application, as your email doesn't say Denied, which is what it would say if they denied your application.

But it's strange because you file other things online with immigration you get to download the forms filled in.

So we would have to trust that if there is a error reading the electronic information from the passport and because of that it doesn't match what is actually printed in the passport that they would verify this instead of rejecting you?

I don't know or understand why the DTV application is so different from all other applications for visas for Thailand...

Visa application is not done by immigration, so the comparison between evisa and immigration forms is not useful.

I do not see any difference in process between DTV and other visa in the evisa application.

Of course what you have to proof for a 5 year DTV is different from a 60 day TR visa, just because the requirements are different.

it's up to you to verify the information you submit, a consulate only checks whether it is correct or not. The consulates have nothing to do with immigration the operate under the MFA, a totally different department

The issues that popped up previously. For place of passport issued, did you state the country you are from, or did you list something else like province or embassy (if you received a new passport while abroad)? Correctly placing names in first and middle name slots. If you have two first names, placing both in the first name slot. Being in the correct geographic location. The scan of your passport page populates incorrect data into the cells, replacing I with l (one is I and one is L).

names are very very tricky, esp with our malaysian passports who reads the whole name as a family name. It just seemed so weird! I called up the embassy we are applying from and have been told to enter our names the ‘correct’ way, instead of lumping the whole name into ‘family name’. Really keeping our fingers crossed for our applications in a couple weeks.

hi there, for passport place of issue, should we just put the original country of issue? Or just copy word for word from the passport? 🙏🏼

I'm not aware of any other reasons for cancellation, other reasons usually lead to rejection. In reality there's nothing you can do except apply again but make sure your name is identical to that shown on your passport, no zero in place of O for example, place of issue is correct and so on
