You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.
Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.
Anonymous participant 282 and what one Embassy or Consulate approves today might be denied tomorrow. Lack of consistency with DTV Visa Application requirements 😔
Anonymous participant 484 Then be prepared to be bored 🥱. This forum has been the go to board for information about getting the DTV visa and using it for 5 years.

We get many QUESTIONS... Here's one which was asked today and our Moderators have replied to it.
IF you are in Thailand and thinking about doing a BORDER BOUNCE/Run to get a NEW 30 days STAMP plus one 30 day extension of stay at your local Thai Immigration office...I URGE YOU TO READ THIS POST...
AND... AVOID POIPET BORDER CROSSING entries into Thailand.
QUESTION...
"High guys, I was about to self-drive to Aranyaprathet/POIPET to do a border bounce but I've been reading around... it seems like a bad idea to go there.
I entered Thailand with a Visa Exempt for 30 days and have already obtained a 30-Day Visa Extension at IT Laski Immigration in Bangkok that will be finished on 28 January tomorrow.
My departure flight is on 5 February back home.
(My flight was cancelled and rescheduled)
What are my options?
...Fly Malaysia 1 day?
...Try Ban Laem border?
I used to live in Aranyaprathet and been to POIPET many times, but I have no confidence in that right now.
My passport is fairly New and has one Entry stamp AND one Extension."
ANSWER...
I'll let this topic on but it's not going to turn into a train wreck 😮
No matter what people used to do at the Aranyaprathet/Poipet border years ago (as in pre-covid sh*t show), it is not the same border.
I would wager that over 100 people a week are DENIED ENTRY to Thailand at that POIPET border crossing. It is such a bad border that even companies who lug foreigners to the border and back won't even use it.
WE RECOMMEND people who are contemplating a bounce with Cambodia (especially and out/in one) to find a BORDER RUN SERVICE COMPANY in the area where you live and use them to get out/back in.
That is the most trouble-free thing you can do.
I get messages from people every week who thought they would save a baht or three, bounce themselves yet are stuck on the Cambodian side of the border after trying and failing to get back into Thailand. 🙁
If you're hell-bent on bouncing yourself these are the borders with Cambodia that you most likely can get out and back on your own (still no guarantees)

AND
You stated that you have a fairly new passport with a few Thai Immigration stamps in it.
FYI... having a New Passport does 🚫 NOT hide any of your Thai Immigration history. As the Thai Immigration Officer who greets you on arrival into Thailand has access to your entire Thai Immigration history on their computer.
Old and New Passports are linked to YOU
Facial recognition software and your fingerprints say that it's YOU.
SO, if you have a recent history of staying in Thailand during COVID-19 and beyond, AVOID flying into Thailand. It's BEST to use Land BORDER BOUNCE entries into Thailand.
Good Luck 🍀

There's several in Pattaya and Chiang Mai and Phuket along with others areas offering this service.
the main crossing to AVOID is POIPET BORDER CROSSING.
Moderators on Thai Visa Advice are advising 🚫 NOT to use POIPET BORDER CROSSING. Many Reports of DENIED reentry into Thailand from Cambodia. Even some are being told to fly into Thailand.
