it's quite annoying. But inevitable. They're obvious the ones with shitty experiences. Better ignore them as if they don't exist. Life becomes so much better then
same. Had 3 passports here, some I carried in my pocked during travels being all humid and leaky. Never had an issue. That being said a mate from UK got stopped and turned back in KL due to some small tare in a page, so I guess you never know
Thanks for the updates! And happy songkran (pretty sure I saw u on the skywalk near asoke the other day (or perhaps I just think so due to kiss shirt lol). Still thanks for all ur inputs. Been so helpful!
Not sure if I should reply here or make another thread. But if I originally was on a non Imm O based on marriage/family, then got a WP on that, and then later down the road for whatever reason would quit or lose the job, would I still be able to stay on the extension of stay (as long as I can show proof of 40k/month minimum from abroad, or money in the bank etc.) and just have to cancel the work permit?
Would be a worst case scenario, but good to be well prepared for all I've come to learn the hard way...
not many would want those jobs anyway. There surely are jobs around of you're qualified and have the degrees they prefer (ans I mean beyond teaching English...) Also it's not only jobs a Thai person can't do. They can do a lot of the jobs I've seen (most really, even if NES tend to be better at English in general), sometime's it's actually based on your merits more than where you're from, especially since we usually cost more to hire to get a WP through for jobs beyond teaching.
Sure sinsot exists, but what was stated before (that you can get most back after) is also true. It all depends on families, their local traditions (isan/south/chinese-thais/khmer-thai/lanna etc) and of course more often than not socioeconomic standing.
If someone has an agreement they're happy with then that's all good. As long as both parties agree and understand eachother I see no issues 🤷♂️
I think Covid might not be the biggest issue with this road for the future, but rather the autrocious coup and brink of total civil war inside Myanmar, with all from crimes against humanity violations by the Tatmadaw and their leaders to lack of oxygen, widespread covid, floods and insurgents against the dictatorship in most bordering states like Kayin, chin, kachin, shan etc.
Yeah, main issue is to find a day when we both can go. Seeing she is stuck with civil servant work as well, hence busy during the same hours immigration is open. But hopefully there will be some possibility to get half a day off soon, else I guess I just have to try on my own even if I might be turned back to return together.
