I need advise! so I’m on a Non b visa extension and about to change my school, it expires on 30 April but I’ve resigned a month earlier so my current school will be cancelling my WP on 1 April, they said I have to wait 4-7 days but the problem is I’ll have to leave the country the same day I cancel my visa . I’ll have to book my tickets in advance because it gets really expensive if I do last minute.
Is there a chance that we can cancel the visa after a few days of getting the WP cancelled without breaking any rules or regulations? Or any complications on re entry ?
Hi.. Is there anyone here familiar with the new online e-work permit system? I already canceled the Non-B extension at Chaengwattana and left Thailand. I needed to cancel the work permit (WP). I have the old blue book, but when I contacted the department, they said I needed to do it online. I have an agent, but she is not responsive. It's very difficult to work with her. She's managing closing the company (DBD, revenue, SS), and she was also supposed to cancel the WP. She was supposed to cancel it within 15 days after I resigned from the job. However, when I checked online, it showed the work permit was still active. I tried to communicate with her, but no response. So I tried to cancel it myself online. However, I had issues canceling it. They requested a copy of the DBD, and I submitted it. However, the office address was changed, and the DBD certificate had a new office address (the new office is located in Samut Prakan). So the e-work permit said it's not under Area 7 office (the old office was in Bang Khae), even though it was issued from Area 7 office. Now, how do I add the foreign employee (me) to the new office address, or how do I change the office location of the work permit? I checked all the options but couldn't figure out how to do it. I contacted the department through various channels and also raised a support ticket to help me sort it out, but no luck yet. Can any kind person help me sort it out? I would appreciate any help or suggestion.
I have been working in Thailand for a long time and I currently have a Non-B visa. This year, I am planning not to renew my contract and apply for a retirement visa. So my visa will change from Non-B to Non-O (I think).
I spoke with the immigration office and they said it is not very difficult. Also, the visa cancellation and the new visa application can be done on the same day, so I don’t need to leave the country.
However, I feel a bit stressed because many things need to be done on the same day. As I understand, my school must first cancel my work permit at the labour office and then give me a visa cancellation letter. After that, I need to cancel my visa and apply for the retirement visa on the same day.
I am worried about possible delays, especially if the school is late to give me the documents. I am not sure if I can finish everything in one day.
If anyone has had a similar experience, I would really appreciate your advice.
My Partner is currently in Thailand on a non-immigrant B Visa and work permit. Employment will end soon and she wants to spend some time in Thailand to finally relax before deciding what to do next.
Is it possible to end the non-B Visa, leave Thailand to go home, apply almost immediately for a 60+30 day tourist visa and come back?
I was told this doesn't count as a visa run due to the prior full time employed in Thailand. Could alternatively do visa exempt of 60 days but we don't want to take risk.
Once my WP has been cancelled, how many days grace di I have, to get a, new visa? Can I get a marriage or retirement visa without leaving the country? What documents would I need?
I’m an Aussie living and working in Bangkok for almost a year now. I just got my work permit on 16 Feb, but I’m planning to resign from my current job at the end of this month.
After that, I’m thinking of applying for a DTV visa. Is this possible in my situation?
I’d really appreciate any tips on:
• What documents I should prepare
• When is the best timing to apply after resigning
• Which country/embassy is easiest to apply from
• How to make sure everything gets approved smoothly
My goal is to hopefully get the DTV approved by early April.
I have non-IB visa with work permit now. I want to resign from my job, and back with DTV. Is it possible? How to make sure they dont reject it? I have a car here and other important things that I can't just leave behind me.
I need some information. I have a Non-B 1-year extension that will expire in late February of this year. I don't plan to apply for a new extension as I'm planning to apply for a different kind of visa from outside of Thailand. In this case, can I just leave Thailand and will the visa expire automatically after the expiry date, or do I need to go to immigration to cancel it?
Hi guys. This is my situation. I've worked as a teacher here for many years and never really had any issues here before about cancelling visas when leaving a job. Anyhow my last working day is the 30 th January. I have a letter stating that. Signed and stamped by the school. However my boss refuses to cancel the WP on the 30 th. She says she will do it on the 3 rd.
I spent 4 hours at the labour department yesterday trying to sort this out. The labour department agreed that I was in the right and several officials called my boss telling her that she was wrong and had to comply with thai laws and do it on the 30 th. Unfortunately my boss was rude to staff and before anyone asks no I've done nothing to warrant this.
Her reaction to me wanting not wanting to renew my contract was to serve me notice papers within 30 working days the very same day. I currently live and work in Nakhon Pathom province. Unlike Bangkok the visa can't be cancelled in advance and this immigration give no 7 days rejection application stamp. I have asked them several times and staff at the labour department also asked them for me. I don't know why but they don't do it.
The labour department told me just to walk in school in the 30 th and then leave the country the same day. Then go cancel everything on the 3 rd of February. Then I wouldn't be detained for overstay as I'll have a new 60 day stamp. I will be fined though right? For everyday my visa is not cancelled ? I have a new teaching position in Bangkok and that's why I need the visa stamped cancelled along with the WP. I know once I leave it will automatically cancel.
I'm still waiting for answers at the labour department but any advice from the forum would be highly appreciated. They won't let me do it myself as they said I can't because it's done online. My boss told them she expects me to work to 6 o clock that day . I work for a language school so we work in the evenings. Immigration told the labour department I'm not expected to work the whole entire day as I have the right to cancel the WP and visa and leave the country. The labour department requested ages change the letter stating the last day as the 3 rd but she will not.
It's obviously a stressful situation to be in. My contract was up on the 15 th February and I had every intention of completing it. Any advice would be highly appreciated.
