I opened account by purchasing codo there… bank need business , if you give them business , everything become more easy. I think last 2-4 weeks is difficult for account opening because Thai baht was so strong. They hardly get profit in oversea rate spread.

Bank staff told me in dinner - foreigners can’t open because they put little money there

Buy an 1 yr accident insurance in K or Bangkok bank (~3000 bath) and said you need to open an account, or else. with your hotel address and phone number for mobile banking

thx Brett, open Thai bank account is actually the most easy thing, am not sure why many other people are struggling of that ;)

I have done many research. TLTR

Regulation - if you buy a condo, money need to transfer from overseas in foreign currency and exchange in Thai by bank, not wise and not Western union

(Not sure if this need for applying any visa )

Bring foreign currency by hand and exchange in Super Rich = best shop* exchange rate

Other way- use credit card

The ultimate best way- find an Thai gov accredited stock broker who accept your hometown currency , move the money there , then you get no spread of exchange rate ..(spread = same as the rate you check on internet) , before IB can do , now Thai bath is out
