Heloo group,,thanks for the invite ! I'm Bub, my dad and I were just in/on Phuket for 49 days, we had to cut our trip short do to a unfortunate health issue my dad had. Our trip was exploratory in nature, we plan to make a home near Hau Hin/Isaan or ? We were both very impressed with the quality of people, foods, places and overall livability for us. Moving forward, we want to return asap, August ? However, after discovering this group, I'm a bit concerned,,seems there may be some difficulties with returning after a short time, like more than once per year ? Any encouraging words will be appreciated.,Thanks again.

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat named Bub shared their mixed experiences regarding returning to Thailand after a short visit due to a family health issue. They expressed excitement about potential relocation and inquired about possible difficulties returning after a brief absence. Comments from members reassured Bub that there would generally be no issues, suggesting the NON-O visa as a viable option for longer stays if needed, and offering friendly tips for smooth re-entry.

when you return if questioned maintain your a tourist.

Have ฿20k in your pocket and advise of the address your staying. If old you through that entry line as a bit easier.

If you don't have an extended history going out and the county you will not have any issues coming back. But if you that scared get a non-o based on retirement gives you 90 days on arrival that you can extend 1 year if you want.

yeah, I've done that too (pet permit!).

as far as you coming back, it's totally acceptable. as for your 4-legged friend, I'd email the AQS and ask if there are any limitations on re-entry per year. also, if you still have your customs receipt (for your dog), take a picture of it or save it so you don't have to pay again when you come back through (they told me to do this at the customs desk BKK)!
