I am going to apply for a non immigrant OA retirement visa in Thailand. Doing research it say you need to deposit 800k baht or show passive income of 65k baht a month? It that right? Is it one or the other? How difficult is it to apply yourself in person at the immigration without an agent? Would I need to deposit money before applying? Which from what I am reading hard to open a bank account without proof of residency. Any advise what steps to take in chronological order for a smooth process would be greatly appreciated. If you are required to deposit 800k in bank, can that money be used to pay rent or medical? Does the 90 day reporting ask questions in regard to money left in the Thai bank?
Further document request regarding sources of income on 28th Feb.
Submitted Annual Tax Statement (Form 26AS), which records amount paid and tax deducted, of current and last financial years on 1st March. Stated in a cover letter that I'm unemployed and intend to fund my stay in Thailand using my savings and any income from investments. Included transaction statements of gold investments and crypto.
Received notification that my visa application has been cancelled on 3rd March.
I had 500k THB in my bank account for less than a month. I don't think I made any mistake while filling out the visa application on the website.
I own two companies in Japan and the US, and I am also an individual investor. Do I need to submit all of my income for the DTV application, not just proof of dividends from my individual investments?
EDIT: My wife and I are retiring together. We are both US citizens. We are both over 50. She is a veteran. She has enough income, mine is a little shy on the monthly amount required. We plan to apply individually.
When your comments mention that rules can depend on the immigration office, are you referring to offices inside Thailand or one of the 5 Thailand Embassies in the US? Thank you all for your valuable input and feedback. 🎉💛
Good morning, I write books and I receive monthly royalties from a literary agent. I don't have a company. In your opinion, can I apply for the DTV as a freelance digital nomad?
Hello, I plan to apply for a DTV visa in Laos as a freelancer. I have been working for a company for 2 months, earning around 400€ from real estate. Is my work experience and salary sufficient? Are these factors considered when applying for the visa?
Hey everyone! I’m looking for some guidance. When applying for the DVT, I know there’s a certain amount you need to have in your account, but what’s the minimum salary requirement for remote work? What’s the lowest amount they’ll accept as income?
Would really appreciate any insight—thanks in advance!
Does anyone know why when you select spouse for a dependent visa, it asks the dependent’s employer, occupation and income?
The whole idea of the dependent option is to make it possible for spouses who aren’t earning an income. And yet the way it’s phrased makes me hesitant to put down $0 for income because it feels like their visa would be rejected…
Anyone have experiences they can share about their spouse applying for the DTV dependent visa? Thank you!
I’m planning to apply for the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) and I wanted to get some advice. I’m a freelancer and teach English online to Italian and Spanish students. The company who sends me the money is based in Spain, I'm from UK. I’ve got one invoice as I've only been working as a freelancer for 1 month but it’s not a huge amount. I’m planning to work more hours when I’m in Thailand, so I’ll be earning more then. I can show proof of over 500,000 THB in my bank account.
Do you think this will be enough to get the DTV, do i have to show the specific number within the payslip or is it just a payslip with my name on. Any tips would be super helpful!
