TLDR : Answer Summary
When you receive a visa issued by a local overseas embassy for Thailand, it is generally valid for entry for 90 days from the date of issue. It is essential to enter Thailand before the expiration date of the visa.

Visas are valid from the date of issue usually for 90 days (unless it's a long term Visa) so don't apply too soon as it will be valid for entry usually for just 90 days from the date of issue

You need to enter by the expiration date of the visa. For most non-immigrant visas, that's 90 days from the date the visa is issued.
