yeah, I agree and the people playing games will be purged nowadays...I'm surprised they even issue the Dtv for soft power courses. I'm one of the business owners that used a successful business to get the Dtv so that I can work remotely from Thailand without issues as an alternative to the elite visa. But it doesn't mean I want to spend days in Singapore or Malaysia if immigration will be fine with me returning the same day and I like Thailand lol. It's amusing when the same group of people continue to assume everyone that asks questions about these things is somehow skint and playing games when some of us spend more money on the economy here than any retiree could afford.

Love and blessings to you and thank you for the suggestion ๐Ÿ™

thankyou Lili that's great insight and I appreciate you sharing your experience. Are you on the Dtv visa? (Just checking lol)

Might choose Singapore, I have some clients out there I could potentially meet for an hour or so. Thanks again

i heard they started issuing tourist visas as an alternative to just rejecting the dtv if they deem you dont meet criteria for the dtv. Better result than a flat out rejection after paying 10k baht. You can email the embassy also so maybe email them and check its not a mistake (i doubt its a mistake)

Just keep a photo of it on your phone as that's accepted by hotels and other things. Youl need to to get on a plane however or for immigration stuff. Photograph the page with stamps in also in case a policeman ever wants to check your not overstaying a visa. (However I just drove 1600 miles without a single police stop so that might not even be an issue depending on where your travelling and how)

Well obviously that would be taken into consideration if it looks like you didn't have a company but just started one last night to get the visa lol. However in reality, even freelancers don't always have a website or a portfolio and often build one or some slides just for the application. The main thing they care about is:

Does the farang have 500k baht that was also theirs three months ago so they can support themselves in Thailand?

Does the farang have a regular income to support him/herself while in Thailand.

Anything else is just evidence to prove the above and a wix website made a month ago isn't going to make any difference if the two above points aren't met.

1) They don't want you to just borrow 500k from a friend just for the application hence the three month criteria.

2) They don't want you to live cheap with no income on Thailand then take a job that could have been given to a Thai local

Literally everything else is just evidence of point 1 and point 2.

However I've never just a random visa agent contact me like that with a problem. Chances are thats just a tactic to sell you another visa if you meet criteria for points 1 and 2. If you don't meet criteria for points 1 or 2 then you dont need an agent to tell you that will fail

Nofuss123 he might be okay since it's all evisa now and they will have already seen his evidence of being in the country of application so might not know that's changed since. Needs to log in and check update on the application on case it's already been approved and needs to keep an eye on his email otherwise.

Another important piece of advice is right now is the worst time to rely on the old methods you've mentioned. You may struggle to extend the 60 days or even be allowed back in of you border hops at the end of it. They are purging the old methods and many people have been denied entry or deported as a result.

You can apply for a tourist visa online provided your not on Thailand, it's cheap and gives you 3 months which can be extended by 1 I think.

Also make sure you have 20k baht per person at the airport of your entering without a visa.

You need to remain in the country you applied in until the end of the process or youl be rejected for not being in the country of application. So if youve already flew out of the country you've lost your application and the fee. My best advice is fly to a nearby country like Vietnam or Malaysia and apply again there. It will cost you another 10-15k baht and you need to wait there until it's finished. They specifically look for proof that your still in the country you applied in. I had to spend a month in Laos waiting for mine.

If I were you, ide do this...

Enter Thailand on visa exempt entry (60 days), then if you want longer than that fly to a neighbouring country like the ones mentioned above and do it all again and don't leave that country until it's approved.

You can still be accepted by a other embassy if you got rejected by one in another country so your fine to apply again. I would be surprised if they still issue the visa on the old one but if your lucky maybe they won't realise you left the country.

I'm probably going to take a drive down to Krabi and then further south to the satun border next month for mine lol. First border cross since I got the dtv so hoping for a smooth reentry.

I got mine at Vientiane, Laos. The good thing about doing it there is they always give you an interview and their pretty pleasant in the interview. They will ask what you plan to do in Thailand and how you will support yourself, you just show them the evidence docs you uploaded for your employment and theyl ask you to open your banking app on your phone so they can check the 600k and any transactions themselves. Theyl have a look, tell you it's fine and let you go and you get the visa by email few hours later.
