Question: I'm visiting Thailand beginning of 2025 on a visa exempt..planning to stay 1-2 months, after which I want to fly to another Asian country and spend there one week before returning to Thailand for another couple of weeks (so another visa exempt).

Could this possibly be problematic upon flying back to Thailand? I've heard stories that entering Thailand twice a year on a visa exempt is not always granted anymore since the introduction of the DTV.

Hi everyone,

I jsut this week renewed my Retirement Visa for another full year, but trying to map out the Visa Status situation for my Filipina Girlfriend...

I am aware that Filipino Citizens are now allowed 60 day Visa Free Entry with another 30 Day extension for a total of 90 days stay.

Recently heard from an Immigration agent that the New Thai Gvt have also made a few adjustments in regards to the border crossings, so eventhough I recognize it is totally to the Border Control Officer's discretion and even if it is Not a written rule, the general concensus seemed to be 2 Visa Free Border Crossings per calendar year would not raise any concerns...

We will of course eventually have to look into a long term visa,

but in the meantime, I would appreciate some clarification on

<What is the number of Visa Runs allowed and if we enter by Land, how many days would a Filipino citizen be allowed on a Visa Free Entry?

Thanks in advance and Best Wishes for the upcoming holidays. 🏖

My work permit will be cancelled on the 31st December following redundancy.

My passport has a multiple entry stamp until July but I understand this will be cancelled too and I’ll have 7 days to leave the country after the WP is cancelled.

What is the simplest/most cost effective way to leave and re-enter while I continue to job hunt?

Thought it might be of some relevance to group members, when it comes to places to do a border run.

According to Thai sources and now the Bangkok Post, the Phu Nam Ron (Kanchanaburi) border crossing could re-open soon. They're pushing to open it around the end of the year.

Whether foreigners will be allowed to cross, is not yet known.

Prior to Covid, this was a standard international border crossing.

The way I see it, they might re-open the pass to foreigners in order to do a border run, but maybe not if you wish to travel further inside the country, to Dawei and beyond. The Thai side says it's very safe now on the Burmese side though, but whether the Burmese side agrees and allows travel beyond the border town, remains to be seen.

Should the border re-open, whether it's for border runs only or for proper entry/exit, here's the good news: the 96km Bang Yai to Kanchanaburi motorway (expressway) is slated to open temporarily along it's full length in time for the New Year. While it's not immediately clear if they'll keep it open after that, or only on weekends for another few months, it will definitely fully open sometime next year. This will mean a quick journey to Kanchanaburi and thus the border crossing, cutting travel times from Bang Yai to Kanchanaburi down to 50-55 minutes or so, from the previous 2-3 hours.

At the border crossing itself, brand new immigration and customs facilities along the actual borderline, will ensure a smooth journey, eliminating the previous 4km of "no man's land" between the temporary border control facilities and the actual border, that existed previously. While the Burmese side has not done anything to upgrade it's facilities to the best of my knowledge, perhaps they will have internet access to process e-visas once they re-open.

For border runners, this is not relevant, as you previously paid a 940 Baht fee to Thai immigration, which included a taxi to/from the Burmese immigration facilities, 5km from the Thai border post and the visa on arrival fee. Given the Thai new immigration facilities right next to the border, this fee will likely be reduced, as the journey to the Burmese side will be only 1km. Perhaps they'll allow you to walk across now, who knows.

Ive got an offer from a law firm that looks legit to do the DTV visa with them from within Thailand and then I’ll just have to do a visa run for it to take effect. Is this Legal? That would be great and save me a lot of time. Thanks!

Hello, any companies for a good border run service to Cambodia and back to Bkk? Can you share the experiences recently? Should I bring extra clothes in case I need to stay in Cambodia?
