Denied in TaipeišŸ„²

Type: remote worker (for 1 company, not freelance)

Situation: coming from non B visa

Heartbroken to say that I was denied in Taipei. It is a specific situation, as I have worked in Thailand, legally for 3 years. I accepted a remote job and came to Taipei to switch my visa type to DTV.

Even with a current contract and first payment made by current company (+600,000 tbh banked and consistent income for past 6 months from past job), they denied because they wanted me to have 6 months of income *from my current contract.*

Note: I also had everything else in order, including the employment letter (stating remote position), company registration documents etc.

The issue they had, specifically, was was that I hadnā€™t been in my current role for 6 months. Pretty much they told me to leave and try again in 6 months time when I am established at my new job. There was no remedying it with them.

ā€” and genuinely this was so shocking because Iā€™d never heard of this being the case for anyone else before. Am I wrong on this?

So, if you are coming from a non B and are switching to remote work, please be aware that this is the way Taipei approaches this scenario.

If you have a similar work history but successfully gotten a DTV visa, can you please comment? Iā€™d really like to understand what else I can do and how I can better plan my application in the future.

Hi everyone!

This question is specifically for UK DTV visa holders, as it seems every embassy has its own set of rules.

This is my second attempt to get a DTV visa šŸ˜Š (my first try was in Penang this August). Iā€™m currently in Thailand, and due to work, Iā€™ll likely be flying to the UK in the next few days. I have a couple of questions:

1. Can I apply for the DTV visa online through the London embassy within the first or second day after my return to the UK?

1. For proof of residency, I have UK bank statements (personal account), a UK driving license (although it shows an old address), and *settled status* for living in the UK. Will this be an issue?

1. My main concern is proof of funds. My funds are in a WISE business account under my US-based company, where Iā€™m the sole owner. This led to my rejection in Penang, as the account wasnā€™t in my personal name. How is this handled in the UK? As a freelancer, itā€™s common to use a business account, and with an LLC, the funds arenā€™t directly in my name. Despite providing proof of ownership, it wasnā€™t sufficient in Penang.

Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

DTV update on Savannakhet

Application is not accepted due to 500K is not maintained for 6 months.

I double checked before going that it doesnā€™t require for 6 months

Maybe itā€™s depends on Officer.

Thanks god I bought the Re-entry before going there. My current ED is still valid & went back into Thailand the same day šŸ˜…

Hi, can anyone advise me how to obtain my Thai girlfriends uk 6 months holiday visa. Iā€™m hoping to bring her to the uk end of January. Iā€™ve checked out some agents and they are quite expensive. Iā€™ve looked at the government website and the application is very extensive . So basically looking for an easier way to apply for her visa. Thanks

Dear pros, i planned to visit Thailand few months ago, so applied for a tourist visa from my country. Unfortunately i got the void stamp on it which made me wait 3 months for me to apply for any Thai visa again. The reason for the void stamp which i assume is due to the factors like my travel agency applied without an actual flight ticket and hotel booking. They just got 6 months bank statement from me. Didn't ask me for financial supportive documents such as Income Tax returns. Also I'm 31 and single. So i just assume these might be the reasons for the visa denial (based on what I read on a visa forum)

Now the void stamp period is over (When i called the Thai consulate in my country, they told me that I have to wait for the void stamp visa validity to be over before i apply for another visa). So i would like to visit Thailand and i wanna stay there for few months. I'm also willing to learn basic Thai language. So thought it would be better to proceed with the ED visa instead of tourist visa as I'm afraid that they may deny the tourist visa once again as they can see void stamp (again this also i read on the visa forum that few guys have been denied the tourist visa second time whom have had void stamp on their visa before) . And also i haven't been to any other countries before. (I also applied for Thai visa couple of years ago and got the tourist visa for 60 days through the same travel agency. But i was not able to travel at that time bcos of some personal reasons).

Can someone kindly suggest me any Thai language schools which gives me the feasibility of learning Thai language through online classes along with the ED visa? Or can I apply for the tourist visa once again? (I'm a website designer btw and I'm not planning to work in Thailand). Just wanna spend vacation and also have an interest in learning basic Thai language.

Thanks much in advance.

My wife is getting a Non O-A retirement visa and Iā€™ll be tagging on to it as a dependent on a Non O visa as Iā€™m not 50.

Iā€™m told by someone who recently tried, that many embassies outside of Thailand no longer issue the Non O visa, which he recently tried in person at Malaysia, Cambodia, Singapore, Vietnam and I think possibly Laos.

Has anyone recently managed to get a Non O in any other countries apart from country of residence, and the Non O used as a dependent visa tagging into their partnerā€™s retirement Non O-A.

I understand that by doing both Non O-A and Non O visas in country of residence, in our case the UK, then no need to have the 800k & 400k funds in a Thai bank. Thanks.

I've just returned after a[nother] month in Thailand & can't go back for six months. Boo-hoo!

I'm thinking of trying to bring my girl over to the UK on a tourist visa. However, she's got no job & owns no property. I own my own home in the UK & have 'enough' dosh & would be happy to 'vouch' for her & pay for a return ticket.

Can anyone with experience please tell me about the realistic prospects of getting her a visa ... preferably without having wrestle [burocratic & legal] crocodiles?
