Got it in April-May last year. Accidentally went through something called "Star Visa". They were absolutely great (sorted my tm30 woes for one highlight.) And didn't cost anything extra.

That's why I said "depending on cost".

And it's not "very easy". Spending an entire day in traffic and bored around gov complexes is something I avoid like the plague.

I would consider it. Depending on how much, of course. Not having to suffer a trip to CW/MTT is worth quite a few baht in my book.

Could've maybe saved a week or so if banks weren't such a nuisance.

It is. If you get a "letter of reference" from your embassy it will make it easier. I used Bangkok Bank.
