Do I need a new TM30 slip if I stay at a hotel or travel to a different province in Thailand?

TM30 noob questions. Staying in Bangkok and have the TM30 slip which was obtained by Thai Elite at CW while finishing that process. Two scenarios:

1. If I stay a few days at a hotel in the city and then come back, do I need to obtain a new slip?

2. Same question if go to a different province for a while.

It's a potential mess since my landlady doesn't speak any English. I think she might be somewhat aware of the thing. But I'd just like an opinion or two before I try engaging.

Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The TM30 reporting requirements have evolved, and currently, if you are staying in the same address after a short trip (whether within the city or to another province), you do not need to obtain a new TM30 slip. A new TM30 is only required if you leave the country and reenter. It's important to verify with your local immigration office or your agency, as there may be variations in enforcement.

The “rules” have changed. The “law” hasn’t. At the moment you only need to do TM30 if you leave and reenter the country. For all other travel if you are returning to the address from your previous TM30, no need to do anything.

However, you do need to check with your local immigration office on their requirements, or perhaps in your case Thailand Elite.

Which differs from the conclusion I saw in another forum. But thanks!

@David *******
the rules changed in June. A new TM30 is no longer required if returning to the same address even if you have been abroad.

actually when they announced those change of rules last year which were quite Draconian I went to immigration to ask and they said no need. Even more confusing. Haha .

At work we are all on BOI Visa / WP from One Stop Shop. I asked at work about TM30. Nobody has heard about it and have never bothered. Nobody fined yet.

In-country, I think no need to refile. A trip out of the kingdom, however ...

@Steve ********
no longer required as long as you are returning to the same address.

Just to be 100% clear. You mean you take a trip inside Thailand. Return to your home and have to do TM30 within 24 hours?

the Rules say NÖ ...but if your Officer Tell you ..you have ...Then Do.....Or Change to online

I am sure they scrapped all that nonsense. It's the hotels and your landlady's responsibility to fill it in. They get fined not you.

The answers are a bit complex. One element is that different imm offices act a bit differently. A second element is that if you have no need to go to immigration than you will not have a problem. If you do need to go to immigration for something like an extension and they determine what they have on the computer is wrong then you will be fined even though it is not your responsibility. It would be up to you to take it up with your landlord. I know it is not possible now but if doing a border bounce you will want the info to be updated as your exit number will be different. If travelling in country then it is useful to know if the place or places you are staying have filed a new TM30 for you. If you are travelling a short distance in the same province it is likely fine. If you travel to a different province you may run into immigration might question why you are not going to immigration in that other province.

No, they have a service. I'm trying my best to avoid a trip to MTT :)

But for them to do it, you have to have the tm30 thing sorted. Which I think I do at the moment. Trying to understand the implications of staying somewhere else for a while and then returning to my condo.

Sorry to hear that!

Yeah, I'm not leaving the country. What I'm mainly concerned with is my landlady if I come back after staying at a hotel in Bangkok or even another province.

@Thomas *******************
then your OK. And no one is leaving except people like me who were on Thailand Elite and have to leave by September 26th because they won't issue a retirement visa inside the country after 7 years living here.
Bim *******
Bea Goyvaerts only the once if you fly out and fly back in again. They scrapped the moving between provinces nonsense not long ago.
Bim *******
Bea Goyvaerts very true and must be completed if you arrive back in Thailand.

Wasn't it a thing that the fine would land on the tenant when it turned out it wasn't done?

Also, I don't care much about the fine. I want Elite to do my 90 day reporting. But that requires this TM30 malarky to be in order.
Bim *******
@Thomas *******************
now you have done the TM30 at your address don't worry about it unless you leave the country and come back. Which isn't happening anytime soon.
Bim *******
@Thomas *******************
you best check with Thailand Elite but am sure they relaxed the TM 30 not long ago to apply only when you leave the country. Hotels it is absolutely their responsibility to fill it in and send off.
