What are the requirements and experience for applying for a SETV at the Thai Consulate in Vientiane?

Noob Vientiane SETV update. It's still user friendly. No proofs required.

- two 3.5x4.5 pictures

- ‎copy of main passport page

- ‎copy of Lao stamp page (probably also copy of Lao visa if you have one)

- application form

- ‎1000 baht for pick up

I went to apply on Friday around 11 am. Absolutely no people there. Got number 79. Went back Monday at 1:30. 80 numbers took exactly 25 minutes.

Oh, and remember it's the consulate. NOT the embassy. Google maps don't quite understand that.

Also, I think Vientiane is an awesome place to chill for a while. Stayed six days and really enjoyed it.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The process of applying for a SETV (Single Entry Tourist Visa) at the Thai Consulate in Vientiane is user-friendly and does not require extensive documentation. Applicants need to provide two passport-size photos, a copy of their main passport page, a copy of their Lao stamp page (and possibly a visa if applicable), the completed application form, and a fee of 1000 baht for pickup. The author experienced a quick application process with minimal wait times and enjoyed their stay in Vientiane.
