TLDR : Answer Summary
A user in quarantine seeks information about extending their visa exemption in Thailand, specifically whether they need assistance applying before a certain date. Multiple comments clarify that extending a visa exemption is straightforward and typically does not require outside help, as it can be done at immigration offices when 30 days or less remain on the current visa. It's noted that the standard extension is for an additional 30 days at a cost of approximately 1900 baht, with mentions of a 60-day COVID extension being available.

Don't know why you said has until the 28th. Just as long as he gets it done the day before his current one expires

Would be interested in knowing how much they want to charge

Don’t waste your money it’s easy enough to do yourself

Visa exemption is 45 days, then 30 days extension after that. Not sure what your hotel is up to sounds dodgy

Michael Dawson. Scummy agents get in everywhere. This ad keeps popping up on Facebook. Agents are doing it tough too. Since the Covid Extensions came in, they're not able to sell their crap 65k baht "volunteer visas" (except to a few stupid farangs), so they're looking elsewhere for dummies prepared to fork out for nothing

@Bobby *******
but if you want to stay 12 months or longer, you need to pay agents for visas like volunteer..
Bobby ********
Chris OHare. You pay agents for illegal visas. Genuine visas you get at immigration.

thing is he is still in quarantine FFS

Michael Dawson. My point exactly! Trying to get to him early in the piece. I wonder just how many ASQs have been approached by agents and negotiations conducted.

Sounds like a way to wring more money out of you,

Believe me you don't need any help extending a 45 day visa exempt entry. :/

At most immigration offices you can apply when you have 30 days or less left on your current stamp's expiration date. You'll get a 30 day extension for 1900baht

That's why I said "depending on cost".

And it's not "very easy". Spending an entire day in traffic and bored around gov complexes is something I avoid like the plague.

yes get that hate BKK thats why changed to Samat Sakorn. But hotels shouldnt be trying this on people who just arrived, its a scam in my eyes
Thomas ********************
I would consider it. Depending on how much, of course. Not having to suffer a trip to CW/MTT is worth quite a few baht in my book.

(Cf eg Bumrungrad Bliss.)

he has only just arrived in country and still in quarantine, which means he doesnt need to apply for a covid extension until end of March, if they still have them then.

Also agents are not charging a few hundred baht for the pleasure of not going to immigration they charge 7700 baht on top of the 1900 baht fee for something you can do very easily.
