In my case I drive the car when in Thailand, but it is registered in my Thai partner's name.

How would this affect an insurance claim, to be honest I never give it a thought.

She is a non driver, the car more or less stands until I go to Thailand.

I have been fined one time for reporting 4 weeks late, I have a private house with my Thai family in Issan.

Hotels are responsible for reporting guests.

I come to Thailand twice a year on a Non O tourist visa valid for 90 days.

I have to report to the area immigration office within

24 hours of arrival, for notification of residence.

Thereafter no more visits to immigration.
