Informed today by COVID test clinic in UK, if flight delayed and 72 hours exceeded prior departure, may require another test.

Depends on airline, one couple paid £200 each for new tests.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Travelers should be aware that if their flight is delayed beyond the 72 hours after taking their COVID test, they may need to undergo another test, which can be costly. It is advisable to take the test at the airport or the day before departure to mitigate the risk of exceeding the test validity. Additionally, it's important to check-in before the 72-hour window expires to avoid complications.

As long as you check-in before your 72 hour window expires you should be fine. If the day changes then you're out of luck though.

Get your test at the airport or the day before you fly. Gives you at least 2 days, flights aint delayed that long.
