When we did a 1 year retirement visa they would not accept a joint account, I had to have my on account with 20,000 US $ just in case he left me and I could support myself.. had a great banker who moved the $ around for us and opened a account for me and then moved money back to joint after showing the separate accounts... The difference with getting all of these visas and showing proof is at the us embassies. They won't tell you if something's wrong. They just won't respond, and you have to try to guess. And figure out how you need to fix things...
If all of the appointments look like they're booked at 12:01 a.m. go online and the appointments are scheduled for the next day they booked them 3 days in advance
for the O-A retirement visa a joint account is not acceptable... the wife HAS TO HAVE HER OWN MONEY. You can not use a joint account, even if there is enough for both of you being deposited...
