I'm from the UK and my next visit to Thailand is next month.

I'm trying it get an International Driving Permit before I fly out.

The UK Government website says I need a 1968 but I know that doesn't have a thai translation in it. (I got one in the past and then was stopped by a Thai policeman and told it was "No Good! 300 baht" )

Some web searches are saying a 1949 but I have not seen one to confirm if it has a thai translation.

Does anyone here know what the correct permit is.

For the proof of address, can I just use my bank statement (which I'm already using for proof of funds) to kill two birds with one stone?

I have just moved back to UK so don't really have any utility bills, staying with family.

I have a full UK driving licence, but I didn’t get an International Driving Permit from a UK Post Office before coming to Thailand. Since I’m already here, what’s the best and most reliable way for me to obtain an IDP now? Are there any legitimate options available while abroad, or do I need to follow a specific process to get one issued from the UK?

I wish to renew my 2 year drivers licence to a 5 year. They require a visa more than a tourist visa. I'm from the UK, can someone tell me what is the visa type I require just for this purpose. Can I get it in country, or do I have to apply in London?

Do i really need a Thai Driving License if i have an current UK issued valid IDP and a UK license. I'm going for a retirement visa next week.

When having my uk passport legalised do I just need the ID PART doing or the whole passport.cos there is quite a bit of difference in price

Simple question regarding driving licences

As a UK Citizen my UK driving licence expires somewhere around my 80th Birthday (it’s that far way I’ve never really considered it)

When I move to Thailand, I will initially have an International Driving Permit with a view to getting a Thai Licence (car not motorbike)

How long can I drive under my IDP and how long will ’my’ Thai Driving Licence be valid once I get it

On a side note, if anyone has any experience of obtaining a Thai Driving Licence or extending it, I would appreciate hearing your experiences
