Is the TM30 reporting still required when renewing a visa in Thailand?

Hey there!

I thought the TM30 was not necessary anymore when traveling to other provinces, but I am renewing my visa soon and I thought of double checking. After a quick check in here I am not sure anymore! Does anyone know what the situation is like?

(And where it should be done, since there are two different centers now? Would it still bw possible to just go to Imm1 and pay a fine yet get the visa renewed on the same day?

TIA!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The TM30 reporting requirement, which relates to the registration of foreigners' residences in Thailand, appears to still be relevant even when renewing a visa. Many contributors mentioned that landlords or property owners are responsible for this report, and it is typically not required for inter-provincial travel but must be completed upon returning to Thailand. Some users also inquired about potential penalties for late reporting, which could range from 800 to 2000 baht depending on the circumstances.

Question: Is Tm30 reporting necessary if the property owner is the same as the resident foreigner?

thank you!

Korat Immigration told me only to report after returning to Thailand, not inter province travel when I asked.

When you travelled to other provinces, did you return to the same address which is on your TM30?

you mean after going to another place, right? Yes, I am based in Bkk and I returned to the same address that there was before ~ but I am not sure of whether I was reported by a hotel or not. I did not report/my landlord did not report me coming back to my current place

@Bobby *******
Yes, I did

Amaia Puntos Suspensivos. Then it's no problem. I've done a dozen inter-province trips since my last TM30 was filed with no problem.

(double checking) and have you renewed your visa after that?
Bobby ********
Amaia Puntos Suspensivos. You don't actually renew a visa, it's an impossibility. You apply for an extension of stay, and yes I've done it twice since my last TM30 and four 90-day reports

well, extension, whatever (even the Adm. in my company interchanges the names so I don’t know what the proper words are ~ talking about a 1year non b).

I guess I should be fine then! 🤞

Thanks!

Your landlord (if renting) is responsible for completing the TM30. If you check into a hotel they will do it.

If you own the property you are responsible for doing it.

Thank you
@Ryan *******
but I am not asking about who should do it, just asking about the current situation when not leaving the country and how it can affect my renewal 🙂

@Am***
