totally understand. Logistics can be challenging and is highly personal. If you have the time, it may be worth exploring both options. I dont know but wonder if applying for another 90 day Non O within 12 months creates speedbumps. I have no idea which is why i thought to suggest. Can likely get an answer to that here in the group. All the best!

If possible for you, get the 12 month extension on your original 90 day Non O and just get multiple re-entry permit. You would need to season the 800k for 2 months first.

Simmer down charm school. Second sentence of his post he said "it took 4 working days applying from HCMC embassy." Im with you, play by the rules! This guy has likely abused it up to now, but let's face it, the rules were once easily bent and broken. Many have taken advantage, but that is over now. Nonetheless, be helpful or don't comment. Non nationals must adhere to visa requirements. Full stop. It's not a matter of a right, it is a matter of personal responsibility to be in a country of which you are not a passport holder. It is worth commenting on what little info was provided in the original post. "...cant apply for long term visa as Non O..." One of the primary requirements for obtaining a 12 month extension for Non O is you must apply for, receive, and enter on a 90 day Non O from outside Thailand first. I repeat, this is only ONE of the primary requirements. With helpful groups such as this online, there is no excuse for ignorance. No insult intended. We don't know what we don't know, so act TO know.

Is it typical to be asked to show bank statements at each 180 days or is it subject to and possibly different depending on office location and officer?

A single entry tourist visa will allow you 60 days + 30 on extension.

A multi entry tourist visa will allow you 6 months.

Both of these require application prior to entry.
