When a visa application is approved, what is the length of the window for entry to activate the visa? Is this window the same for all applied for visas? If no, are there specific windows for the DTV and Non O/Retirement? Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The entry window to activate a Thai visa after approval varies by visa type. Generally, most visas, including the Non O visa, offer a 90-day window from the issue date to enter Thailand. In contrast, the DTV visa provides a much longer entry period, allowing entry at any time within a 5-year span, granting up to 180 days per entry. Other visas like the OA visa allow for entry within a year.

Most visas are valid for 90 days, you have 90 days from the date of issue to enter the country and get your stamp. In the case of the DTV it's 5 years. OA is a year.
On your e-Visa is marked enddate of validity. If you enter Thailand before the enddate, you get stamped in depending your visa (tourist visa ex METV 60 days, non-O 90 days, non O-A 365 days, DTV 180 days).
As you said, it depends on what Thai Visa you have ...
The Non O Visa gives you a 90 day window from its issue date to enter Thailand.
The DTV Visa is a 5 year multiple entry Thai tourist visa which can be used to enter Thailand anytime during the 5 years from its issue date and grants you 180 Day stamp on EACH arrival.
Pardon this second ask...in the case of the DTV and Non O based on retirement, the window is the actual length of the visa? If yes, then the 5 years on the DTV and 90 days on the Non O DAY 1 is day of entry, correct? Thank you for the clarification.
You must enter Thailand with a Thai Non-O visa within 90 days of the visa's issuance date. The single-entry visa is valid for entry only once within this 3-month period, and the initial stay is for up to 90 days from your arrival date.
DTV visa...
Is valid for Entry into Thailand for 5 years from its date of issue.
However the Thai Embassy's or Consulates are Asking that you Apply for the DTV visa WITHIN 90 days of your planned use of it.
You can enter Thailand with a METV multiple-entry tourist visa multiple times within a six-month period from the date the visa was issued. Each visit is typically limited to 60 days, but you can request a 30-day extension at an immigration office. Note that you must enter Thailand within a specific timeframe from issuance, such as the first three months for some locations, so it is important to check your specific embassy's requirements.
