I had one stupid issue. I picked up the letter, it looked ok, then I brought it to immigration. The next day I got a call that it had been rejected.

The date of the letter was incorrect. So I had to go back to the bank and get it fixed. Then there was no problem.

Assuming you are using the 65k method, which is what I do, no need show updated pass book. What is needed is the bank letter showing 12 monthly foreign deposits.
