Will I face issues at the airport after my O retirement visa lapsed if I travel to Thailand for one week?

In May 2025, I intentionally let my O retirement visa lapse. I was and am overseas so there was no overstay. I intend to go to Thailand for one week.

Should I expect any issues at the airport? Can I request a 7 day stamp? I don't want the IO to think that I am attempting to stay without the " proper" visa.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has let their O retirement visa lapse while being overseas and is planning a one-week visit to Thailand. They are concerned about potential issues at the airport due to the lapsed visa and whether they can request a 7-day entry stamp. Community responses indicate that depending on the user’s passport, they may be eligible for a visa exemption and could receive a stamp at the airport without needing a visa. It is recommended to fill out the online arrival form prior to travel for convenience.

Russell Hird you asked if you needed a visa. The answer is NO. You will be visa exempt and will get a stamp at the airport. You must fill in the online arrival before you leave. You can do it at arrival but it is inconvenient.

it’s automatic. They give you up to 60 (depending on your passport). If you leave in 7 or 60 is irrelevant.

I was hoping to avoid any issue with frequent arrivals by showing immigration that I will only be doing short trips.

60 days every time you come in. It's that simple. Nobody cares if you stay 7 or 60.
