TM30 Current information. I know this subject elicits many variations in what is correct.

Today I was in Jomtien Immigration at 16:00 and the Information counter was literally empty so I had the undevided attention of two IOs. I asked them about when is a new TM30 required. The response was:

If you have a new(ish) TM30 in your passport ,(unsure why it has to be in the PP,) and you leave Thailand and return to the same address as your TM30, you do NOT need to do another one.

I know others will dispute that answer and yes there are many different IOs. Others will say it has always been that way. I will test their answer next month.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion focuses on the requirements for the TM30 immigration form upon re-entering Thailand. Users have differing opinions based on personal experiences across various immigration offices, such as Jomtien and Phuket. The latest response from Jomtien suggests that if one returns to the same address with a recent TM30 in their passport, a new TM30 may not be necessary. However, there are reports of changes in policies and inconsistencies among officers. Many participants share their experiences, reinforcing the idea that individual immigration offices may apply rules differently.

It has happened the same to me. I returned from Europe with a re-entry permit on my student visa. I'm staying at the same address as before. They told me I don't need a new TM30.

My Dutch friend was there yesterday after he came back from the Netherlands where he has been since some months. The Imm. Officer told him, that a new TM30 is not necessary, when she saw the old one in his Passport.

You are required to carry a copy of your current TM 30 in your passport.

I was told by Imm in Petchabun after doing my TM30 to always carry the copy in my passport. Obviously it is a case of each office having their own rules and regulations. To me it is not Fake or False news just confusing Imm rules once again. I would never post what I knew to be False/Fake news. Lived here a long time and know how much damage that can do. πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰

it is requested but I'm not sure that is what they were getting at. I think they just wanted to see what version of the TM30 I have. They asked for my passport to see it. My passport was inside getting an extension. They pointed to a TM30 taped to the wall and asked if I had "that kind of TM30". No idea what is different.

Phuket is different especially if you are Russian 55. About October Jomtien started asking for new TM30 for unknown reasons.

that’s the case in Phuket , my TM30 has been in my passport for 5 years now as our address hasn’t changed , never renewed , and done 4 visa renewals in that time or am I missing something here ?

That's the OLD policy for Jomtien, but as of November last year it changed and a LOT of people got fined because of it.

Unless you talked to an officer at the actual TM30 desk, their answer doesn't matter.

I understand. They asked to see my current and new TM30 and was told that one is ok. That leads me to think there are new and old TM30s. So I guess it is possible that TM30s older than a certain date need a new one.

I assume the people getting fined were doing an extension. My new extension is happening now, just before I travel. So I guess I will find out at 90 day time, 1 month after travel.
