TLDR : Answer Summary
The visa exemption for UK passport holders entering Thailand is still 60 days. There was confusion regarding terms like "on entry visa" and "visa exempt," but it is clear that UK citizens receive a 60-day visa exemption upon arrival. Discussions about changing this to 30 days have circulated, but as of now, no such change has taken place.

Visa Exemptions are currently still 60 days.

Tourist Visas that you apply for before going are 60 days.

Visa on Arrival is 15 days.

Someone made a mistake with yours.

It may be worth checking the Thai Embassy website in the country where your passport is issued - for a definitive answer

It’s not a visa it’s a visa exemption as far as I know it’s still 60 days
Thaimer ******
@Scooter ****
well you don’t know. There’s tourist visa and there’s visa exemption. Both are 60 days
Scooter *****
@Thaimer *****
he spoke of changing back to 30 days that visa exemption
Scooter *****
I’m no expert and I don’t ask FB for visa advice
Wayne *********
No it's not changed and as advised in March on your post it's not an on entry visa it's visa exempt stamp on arrival.

The May 1 change was for the new requirement of completing a DTAC online or on arrival.

Thailand offers a Visa on Arrival (VOA) for citizens of certain countries, allowing them to enter Thailand for tourism purposes for a maximum of 15 days.
Wayne *********
@Jo *********
well aware of that been living here long enough. But he is UK passport so doesn't get VOA. Also mentioned 60 days so obviously not from a country that gets 15 days wasn't hard to work that out.
Jo **********
@Wayne ********
yes true, he mentions entry visa which is very confusing
John *******
@Jo *********
he mentioned he was here for 60 days in March, so it isn’t confusing. We know that most people confuse visa exempt as visa on arrival.
Wayne *********
@Jo *********
Not to me it wasn't
Kenneth *******
It was 60 days when I got here that's what the stamp says from 2 days ago
Kenneth *******
@Jo *********
if you know the answer why are you asking 🤔 or are you just board
Kurt ***********
@Peter Hedley. To give a correct answer, I need to know your nationality and whether you are asking about visa on arrival or visa-free stay. There are 93 countries that have a 60-day visa-free stay.
Greg *******
Depends where you are from. Check the Thai embassy website
Robert **********
"On entry visa". What does that even mean?
Jo **********
@Robert *********
Thailand offers a Visa on Arrival (VOA) for citizens of certain countries, allowing them to enter Thailand for tourism purposes for a maximum of 15 days.
Robert **********
@Jo *********
aha. So, they are not entitled to the visa exempt?
Graham ******
@Robert *********
they mean Visa Exempt (UK passport) but got the terminology wrong
Robert **********
@Graham *****
I hate it when people make up there own terminology...
Neil ********
Yes. Likely not to change right now as they want tourists to spend money.
Graham ******
Visa Exempt entry is still 60 days
Jo **********
@Graham *****
he asking about visa entry or visa on arrival which is 15 days

@Jo *********
it states on Thai embassy website ‘Visa on arrival’, yes it is not an actual visa given but they simply grant access for a set period of time depending on the passport from a restricted amount of countries. For example, no visa given, but if you overstayed your then overstaying beyond your visa date.
Steve *******
@Peter *******
Incorrect. A visa on arrival IS an actual visa. You're confused with visa exemption, which is NOT an actual visa.
Steve *******
@Jo *********
UK citizens are not eligible for visa on arrival.
Graham ******

@Jo *********
, you know exactly what he means
Henrik *****
Look at any Thai Embassy website, it always shows the available visa options.
Pete *******
Visa on arrival is valid for 15 days.
Dianne ********
@Pete ******
you sure?
Pete *******
@Dianne *******
yes I am sure, you get a 15 day visa on arrival if your passport is from one of the 31 qualifying countries.
Jimmy *******
@Dianne *******
that isn't true
Thaimer ******
@Jimmy ******
that is true. You’re just clueless what’s visa on arrival
Jimmy *******
@Thaimer *****
clueless, not for me 60 days o. Arrival simpleton
Pete *******
@Jimmy ******
when you arrived did you buy a visa?
Thaimer ******
@Jimmy ******
as I said you’re clueless. Visa on arrival is 15 days only, non extendable, cost 2000 baht and not available for Australians
Jimmy *******
@Thaimer *****
I'm here dickhead and I have a sixty day on arrival. I can extend that by another 30 days by paying for it
Andy ************
@Jimmy ******
You don't actually have a visa, you have a free entry stamp. The other guys are correct. The Visa On Arrival is for 15 days
Thaimer ******
@Jimmy ******
for a 3rd time you’re clueless. That’s not visa on arrival.
John *******
@Jimmy ******
this is visa exempt
John *******
@Jimmy ******
this is visa on arrival
John *******
@Jimmy ******
You entered “visa exempt”. Visa on arrival is a different thing. There is a kiosk with chairs for waiting before the immigration line at the airport. This is for nationalities that are not allowed to enter visa exempt. The visa on arrival gives those nationalities 15 days
Jo **********
@Jimmy ******
visa on arrival is true
Pete *******
@Jimmy ******
visa on arrival is 15 days.
Glenn *****
@Jimmy ******
it is true for visa on arrival but not true for visa exempt. Depends on country of origin.
