I don't see a recommendation for Laos or Vientiane anywhere. I don't know anything about there visa arrangements as I have only holidayed there, but I have family that live there and have done for 15yrs.
I loved Vientiane and the surrounding areas. It's certainly as cheap as Thailand and the driving is better albeit on the right hand side of the road but that was easy even in my Thai Ute. Anyway for me it's easy to get to from Udon area. Enjoy
500bht is what I was paying resident certificate at Udonthani Immigration. Don't need to now as I have a yellow book and pink ID card as well as a driver's licence.
See attached from Thai embassy website, I was also under the impression that you were ok with less than 6 months but it say it is required. My missus has renewed her passport to enter Australia again as it would have only been 5 months. Her Aust visa actually says to have 6 months.
yes you are correct about the 3800, ok I am on O retirement and it’s 3800 for a multi re entry sorry I missed the “re”, as I said I am on a retirement “O” extension.🤔🤔😆
Hua Hin is nice also and so are some of the islands. Hua Hin is quite popular with Thai tourists as well as the expat residents and holidaying farang from many countries and yes I think the northern areas here are nicer.
Karon, Kata, Kamala. Patong is full and I mean full of tourists and many Russians trying to avoid the war etc for many Eastern Europeans also from what I understand. I was also there but only for 2 days flying home from Australia to Udonthani. But I love all of Thailand but Phuket would be second favourite to Udon.
