I was using Wise to send money from the U.S. to my wife's account in Thailand (TTB). Any suggestions for a replacement since Wise says "this bank no longer accepts cross-border remittances." Does this mean Wise or all electronic transfer systems?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user was notified that Wise can no longer facilitate transfers to TTB accounts in Thailand, prompting them to look for alternative options. Comments suggest considering other banks accepted for transfers, like Bangkok Bank, Siam Commercial Bank, or Kasikorn Bank. Various alternatives were proposed, including Western Union, Remitly, MoneyGram, and XE.com, with several users sharing their successful experiences with these services. There's also discussion about account limits for certain transfers and the potential for TTB to resume accepting Wise transfers soon.
I use Moneygram cash pickup. My wife gets the money instantly (well next time she goes to the bank). It appears properly on my bank statement, and I have a paper record who receives the money and why, if anyone is asking. Standard charge is 5% but most of the time they discount it to 2 or 3%. Way cheaper and quicker than normal bank transfer. Probably no good for large amounts. I read that Bangkok bank has overseas locations. While you can't open an account at these location, you can transfer from domestic banks to these, then effectively an internal transfer to Thailand.
If you're sending funds from the US the only bank you can use is Bangkok Bank because they have a ABA transaction number all other banks used to Swift system. With my VIP status I can wire transfer funds to Bangkok Bank for free now You have to use wire transfer ACH numbers are no longer accepted.

I'm from the UK, and I use kapook to transfer money to my partner(don't know if there is a US app) however it's much more cheaper than Western Union and Moneywise, money usually transfered in minutes.

Can you send money from virgin money and natwest from the UK as not sure if these banks are accepted to transfer to a thai account
it is more likely to show as ftt if you send to 1 of 3 banks one of which is Bangkok Bank. If this is what you need then get Wise to tag your account. I have had successful transfers marked as international monthly for the last 15 months to BB.

TTB will be accepted within the next two weeks they said. Just waiting for the update
There is a limit of 50,000 Baht in international transfers for people who use Wise to transfer the money and only for people using a bank other than Bangkok Bank, Siam Commercial Bank or Kasikorn Bank.
Why doesn't your wife open a new account at an accepted bank? Then they could either transition to using that bank, or just transfer the money from that account to their TTB account.
We're in the U.S., we'd have to fly back to Thailand to change bank accounts and we only use this account to pay expenses on her house in Samut Prakan. It's about $5k USD for us to fly to Bangkok which seems steep to just change an account. Moreover, even though she has a green card, it's dangerous for a foreign resident to leave the U.S. for any reason right now.
it’s not the transfer company that is changing. It’s the accepted banks Thailand now has a list of about eight banks that will only accept foreign transfers.
There could be legitimate reasons. They might live in a very rural area without any banks nearby, so it would be difficult to open a new account. They might be blackballed from other banks. But just wanted to make the suggestion since for Thai people it's relatively easy to open bank accounts normally.
