From. Nakhon we have been several times to Kota Bharu consulate. Drop the application in on a Sunday and its back Monday afternoon. Penang is nice for a visit however visa applications can take 3 days. Kota Bharu you can get the early Train from Nakhon to Sungi Kolok and go across the border to Malaysia and get a taxi to Kota Bharu. If you arrive early enough lodge the form then hotel overnight collect your passport the next day at 2 pm

Just watch the hotel that advertise Patong mountain they can be a long walk to the beach.

We flew from Australia with Jetstar on a one-way ticket. No questions were asked. I tell them I'm travelling by land to Laos or Malaysia with no fixed date

I suggest going on book a cheap flight with either Airasia or Vietjet to either Cambodia or Vietnam. (HCMC, Danang or Hanoi have international arrival to Vietnam. from Bangkok, Chaing Mai or Phuket

For immigration the yellow house book and pink ID card mean nothing. The pink ID card can get you some discounts but I haven't seen any. I've been married in Thailand for 5 years,

it has to be 2 months or over. I was caught 2 days short and they made me do an extension for 1 month before processing the longer visa

I had my Thai pass approved in 30 minutes on the 1st June. Their response is very quick now. They have cut it down to 1-2 hours from 2 days or more
