Thank you! ๐Ÿ™‚At this time we are looking for general information. Last year we were given a list by immigration then they changed thing new certified marriage cert as we had been married over 12 months. The village head had to vetify we lived at our address in person at immigration plus other not listed documents

correct, in fact IF your embassy here still issues the affidavit of income from abroad notary letter you cannot use the monthly transfer method and HAVE to use the embassy letter.

I just had a canadian friend who had proof of bring in to a thai bank account in his name 65K baht a month for the last 12 months before he applied for his extension and he was DENIED the extension and told to go to the canadian embassy get the notary letter, come back and re-apply. He did that and they accepted it without any question at all ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ˜› Go figure

thanks. Just to be clear if you have an embassy letter you do not need to show a bank statement reflecting the international transfers? My problem is that due to foreign exchange laws changing I can no longer do transfers without being in my home country. I can draw the money at an ATM and deposit into my Thai account but not transfers.

, Three ways to show the proof of 40K baht a month income if you are using that method

1 - If your embassy issues the income affidavit notary letter you must use that

2 - work legally inside thailand (with a work permit) and show proof your salary is at least 40K baht a month

OR

3 - transfer from abroad into a thai bank account in your name only a minimum of 40K baht a month, each month, every month for the previous 12 months before you apply for an extension

@Tod ********
my question is must the B 40 k income on your bank statement show that is was an international transfer as with the retirenent visa or not?

@Michael *******

Interesting never known about this one or been asked, thanks for explaining.

@Paul ******
a LOT of offices are asking for a new one of those (which is strange because when you apply your thai wife is sitting beside you and I doubt she'd be there IF you'd gotten divorced during the year) ๐Ÿ˜›

@Michael *******
he is talking about a new Kor Ror 2 <- the form you get all in thai when you register a marriage. It can be issued by any Amphur office in thailand for 20 baht and is the only way to really show that the marriage is still valid. MANY offices request people get a new one EVERY year.

When you first register the marriage in thailand you get two documents, the suitable for framing Kor Ror 3 with the rose border and the all in thai form looking Kor Ror 2.

@Paul ******
never heard of a new certified marriage cert

My local office isnt the most helpful place. They just say the same as last time. Thats the reason for general information from the group

, the list from Phuket seems more or less like the minimum requirements everywhere. The details are the difficult ones like how many pictures from your house, and how many documents from bank or embassy. Prepare yourself that this process is very bureaucratic and will easily take a number of visits to the Immigration if this is the first time you are getting an extension. Can only repeat to keep a full copy for next years to come.

I will be using that list as a guide. Thank you

@Paul ******
, then try using the list from Phuket and they will tell you what is wrong or missing. Remember to keep a copy of all documents in correct order to make next years extension easy.

Billy Brown That's not actually sarcasm. He asked Immigration and they gave him the answer. Not my fault he cant remember or didnt ask what docs he supplied last year.

Better to ask for the updated list in local immigration

These are the requirements for the Phuket office. Your local office may have slight differences.
