Can I ask it seems very hit and miss with feedback ive had , but can you buy a single flight fare to Bangkok? Ive heard immigration in Thailand may refuse you entry, also the airline wont allow you to buy a single fare ticket, im not sure when I wish to return. There are flexible tickets but can be very expensive..Anybody ?
I have a question for those who got a DTV visa and went to Thailand. Can I go to Thailand from the United States with a one-way ticket without having a return ticket? Does airport employees force you to have a return ticket even though you have a visa? Please share your experiences.
Can i ask are you able to buy a single flight to Thailand? I am unsure how long I want to stay .Would immigration refuse me entry without a confirmed return flight ?.The last time I visited i wanted to stay longer but to change my return flight date cost nearly as much as a single fare back ..Thanks in advance
The visa application for the DTV workation visa asks for the expected arrival and departure dates, the flight number, the address of the accommodation, and the length of stay. However, I don't yet know when I'll be leaving and only have a one-way ticket. I've only booked my accommodation for the first four weeks. Is that sufficient?
Hi! When applying online. You’ll be asked about you day of arrival and adress of stay.. even the day of departure. I think many people come on a one way ticket. So how do I fill out these boxes?
This was our experience yesterday at BKK airport. We had a one way flight into Bangkok as we are going travelling.
Arrived from the UK via India. No onward/return air ticket. We were asked by the IO how long we were planning to stay and when/where/how we were leaving.
We have been to Thailand twice this year already but short stays within the 60 day visa exempt period. No questions asked about number of times visiting.
We do not plan to stay longer than our visa exempt 60 days this time either but our plans are flexible. I purchased bus tickets to Vientiane and booked a refundable hotel there for two reasons:-
1. In case we needed proof we would be leaving Thailand (within the visa exempt period); and
2. In case our airline questioned us having a one way flight (Air India did question this at the boarding gate in London). They do not want to be responsible for paying in case we are deported.
The IO did not ask to see any proof of the onward travel out of Thailand. But for the sake of £7 for two of us, this was worth it for peace of mind!
There were other nationalities being carefully scrutinised by the IO who were in front of us in the queue.
Thanks for all the advice on the posts in this group. They have been very informative and helpful.
