Information required about extending non O marriage visa. I transferred the money and I'm currently on a two month extension for visiting family as advised by members and immigration. My next step will be to apply for a 1 year extension in November. What is required to apply. All comments welcome

What is the actual requirement for duration of 400k in Bank account. 2 or 3 months ? An agent has told me 2 months
Steven ***************
I've done this 3 times. Its 2 months prior to applying and must remain in account for the 30 day consideration period. So a total of 3 months in effect.

I had heard that too but at my first check in no one ever asked anything about a bank account.

yeah I’m not sure where folks get that from but for sure it’s 2. People do spread a lot of bad info here.

I went to Samut Prakan last week for the same thing. Because it was my first time extending I had to take a Thai witness who was not a relative of my wife. I didn’t know that was required and had to go back the next day with a neighbour.

I’m not sure if that is a Samut Prakan rule, or if it’s the same at all immigration offices...

If you are having a problem doing it yourself there are many agents that will make the process much easier for you

thanks Steve it gives me the idea of what to get together. When I did the 2month visit family extension they insisted on a new translation of our marriage certificate as the old one was 12 months old

@Pa**

Just go to immigration with your wife, and they will give you a list of everything you need. That is the best way. Then you won't be missing some document.
Tod *********
Common things are;

-copies of every page in your bank book updated on the date you apply,

-letter from the bank

copies of:

-the data page of your passport,

-Non-O visa

-last entry stamp

-current extension

-TM6 departure card

-marriage certificates(s)

-thai i/d of your wife

-TM-30 receipt

-lease

a hand drawn map to your house

photos of you and your wife standing in front of your address #

photos of you and your wife in the house

Your best bet is to take your thai wife and go to the immigration office and get the hand out that all offices have that lists the exact requirements of that particular office. OR post on a f/b page related to the south of thailand so people who live down there can tell you

@Pa**
and like Tod said “hand drawn”. They wouldn’t accept our google maps print out. Luckily my wife is smarter than me and insisted on drawing one.
