Where did you stay in Hanoi while waiting for your visa ?

There are hundreds of places on the booking platforms but I am looking for a personal recommendation.

Obviously I want to be in or close to the Old Quarter and AC is a must.

I'm budgeting for around 20usd a night but I am getting too many hostels and dorms coming up.

Any hidden gems out there someone can suggest ?

I’m asking just to be sure. If we come to Thailand with a DTV and stay in a hotel for two or three weeks, the hotel will file the TM30 form for us, right? Then, once we find a condo, we need to get a new TM30 from the owner of the new place.

I hope this is okay as it says...and Everything Else. Would anyone have an idea of a good hotel to stay at in Phnom Penh for a couple of nights in mid-Dec. Thinking of good location, clean and safe. Maybe up to $100 a night or so.
