Not true. The IO will not want to see your boarding pass and they don’t want to know if you were in BC or toilet class.

If you go to any govt offices, wear respectfully. Meaning long pants in your case, although you will not be refused service if in shorts. For banks, knee length shorts is OK but always take off your sunglasses when you enter the bank.

The 12 year old girl was giving you good advice. Yes, Thailand can be problematic but the benefits outweighs all the trips you have to make to the immigration office. That’s why it’s a popular destination for foreign retirees. Go to Singapore if you want efficiency and hassle-free immigration. But you will live like a poor bloke there.

She’s right. Advised to collect your passport, thank her and move on. Don’t be a freedom fighter. It’s Thailand, not your own country.

Living in Thailand can be as expensive or as cheap as you want it to be. A simple lunch or dinner can range from AUD 3 to 300. The beauty is in the wide range of optionality available.

Cecelia Mereti Wati fyi, money changers are also located within the airport and you should change in Thailand. The rates are quite similar everywhere in Bangkok. AUD is warmly accepted. You’ll have blast in Thailand and your English is perfect ! 👌🇹🇭🥳🥂
