Happy to share that I received my LTR-P visa by email yesterday. It was a fairly simple process which did not need any Visa agency help. I am grateful to many in this group for providing guidance and helpful tips. Here is the timeline for my application:
April 23, 2025- Online application submitted to BOI with income and asset documents
April 28, 2025- Additional income documents requested by BOI. Had to submit the 2024 Form 1099 to support the income reported in 2024 tax return. Since I do not have any pension income, I was also asked to provide my investment portfolio which generated the passive income
April 29, 2025- Additional asset documents requested by BOI to verify liquid assets of $100K. The funds in Fidelity money market account was not acceptable
May 15, 2025- I submitted AXA insurance policy to avoid prolonged correspondences to prove that funds in Fidelity money market funds were fully liquid
May 29, 2025- Received email confirming my qualification endorsement
June 4, 2025- Received the qualification endorsement letter which was to be included with e-visa application
June 7, 2025- Applied online for e-Visa at Thai Embassy in Washington DC
June 11, 2025- Visa approval email received with e-Visa attached
Anyone got APEC business card (which you can go through the fast track in immigration) and you use the DTV to enter Thailand? My APEC card country list includes Thailand, will the officer say anything?
Anyone here successfully used the "airport limos" in bkk airport? The golf carts... I've tried to engage the people a couple of times and get waved on like a leper.
Just came back to Thailand from Cambodia on my new DTV. Some might be interested as I was on ED visa previously.
I applied as a freelancer. Provided business registration, contract with my main client (translated in english), 6 month of invoices for this client (in english) 6 month of bank statements with highlighted payments from this client, and 6 month of saving accounts statements with the required funds. As a reference, my income is low, few hundred euros per month, but steady.
Also added an export of my linkedin profile in english, a capture of my profesional website, and a letter stating my expertise and current activities.
It took exactly 10 business days for me to get approved, not counting the day I submitted. Went to pending approval on day 2. Got approved on business day 11, late afternoon. No update in the middle whatsoever.
Printed my DTV. Came back the day after through DMK (not BKK). Paid extra for fast pass as some here suggested it might be smoother.
Handed my passport to the (female) officer (some seem to think it makes a difference) with printed DTV.
She did not mention at all my ED visa current extension and related stamp of re-entry permit. She did not try to test my thai language.
Just asked me what I was doing, I said I work online for a company in my country. She asked if I got the money in my country. I said yes.
She checked some kind of unidentified logbook, then proceeded to stamp me in for 6 month.
Finally free from the ED golden cage, at least until immigration starts not liking DTV for some random reason🙏
Any question let me know, and good luck everyone 🤞
Left Phuket on a business visa (planning to return and cancel it before activating DTV)
Went through the ‘fast track’ at immigration and they said I had to enter on DTV (I didn’t tell them I had DTV, it obviously just came up on their system).
I told them I was advised I had to come back and cancel my business visa and work permit but they asked a few staff and said that wasn’t correct so stamped me in on DTV.
For elderly arrivals (80+) at Suvarnabhumi, is there a special faster line through immigration or a pay-extra VIP line that could make it happen easier?
Thinking about ways my 80yo mother could visit for a few weeks and the long (16 hour) flight is already tiring enough.
FWIW, she would use a Business Class ticket to make things easier on the plane at least.
Last year I had an 15 month ( 3+ 12) Non-o visa that expired on Dec 18. I arrived Dec 19 (ev30) and extended at Jomtien, no issues. I just flew out to Vietnam for 5 days and on my return was asked for boarding pass and outbound ticket (which I had). Stamped in ev30 again.
I have now been asked to attend a conference in HK early march.
Question:
will purchasing and using a Fast Track pass ease my immigration concerns of not being let back in, or do i just suck it up and hope for the best, with the worst is i'm ejected.
I'm in HK for 6 days, Aussie passport. constructive options please?
I tried to use my LTR to take the “short line”. But the officers said to go to the normal line. Was I supposed to use the “Thai/Diplomat” line? I only saw that and the foreign passport line. And if I was supposed to use that line what do you suggest I say so I don’t get turned away in the future?
