Has anyone had a METV then applied fort the DTV ? Is there anything need to do like cancel the METV?

Anyone had experience applying for DTV Visa at Royal Thai Embassy in Ottawa ?

Just had a ridiculous experience with the Thai embassy in Prauge. They only allow to submit an application electronicly and say it will take them 30-45 days to process.

Hello everyone....when you apply for a metv, do you have to take the flight with a return within 60 days or can I take it with a return within 6 months (approximately)? This point is not clear to me....From what I understood, speaking to the agency, I can make a reservation in order to obtain the visa but this is still not clear to me....And in any case if I'm not mistaken, I will have to take an open ticket to change the return and this will lead to additional costs each time to postpone the return and change it.... If someone can advise me, especially the cheapest solution, I would be really grateful....have a good day.....

I am Canadian. Is it even worth getting a METV now that there is the 60 day Visa Exemption ?

Good morning people, with a multiple entry visa, can I do with an expired METV visa, a further exit-entry into the country using the additional 60 days visa free granted as an Italian citizen, or do I have to necessarily return to Italy? Let me explain better ... I enter Thailand in early November and in early January I ask for my first 30 day extension (total: 90 days), After that, I would do a visa run for another 60 days and finish in early April ... Now I have another 60 days, in theory the last ones, but just before my visa expires, I leave and re-enter and get another 60 days (so far, I have always done this and have never had problems) ... At this point I usually return to my country ... but if I left again by plane, could I get another 60 days exempt from the visa with the new rule? Hi I am intending to visit Thailand again for @ 6 months starting in October. I am retired (so cant get the new nomad visa) will travel with my Thai wife of many years. Last year I went on a Tourist visa, extended it for 30 days, they got a family visa then popped over to Laos for a day.

To simplify matters this year plan to apply for a Multiple Entry Tourist visa - have been assured that this lets you enter the country for 3 x of 60 days in a 6 months period - so idea being arrive after 60 days go to Laos returning the same day which will also be day one of the second 60 days, at the end of which repeating this process - so total of 177 days in Thailand. My question is step 3 of the Multiple entry application asks for date of arrival (okay) BUT then asks date of departure is this the 60th day ie when I go in/out to get my next entry on my visa OR is it the 157th day?

Specifically, I'm wondering whether it's worth opening a local bank account during this time. Is it a complicated or straightforward process? Would you recommend it for someone staying a few months, or is it better to stick with my home country's bank?

METV application from UK.

Whilst I am retired from my last job and get a small pension (Im under the state pension age), I also have a small freelance income. For this type of visa, what is the appropriate “occupation” option please? I dont want to get a retirement-related visa, just an METV. If I choose retired I am concerned in case the Embassy says get a retirement-related visa. As always, thanks in advance.
