It is still on their website. But I have yet to hear of anyone knocked back on visa exempt at the airport because they have done it too many times.

The first time I applied for 1 year extension, I applied based on marriage. The next year I switched to retirement as the paperwork is much less and I easily met the monthly income figure on my pension.

Actually, it wasn't a problem, immigration moved my stamps into the newer passport without any fuss at all.

I am guessing then that the work around here would be simply to arrive on an SETV and then change that into a non-imm O with the correct funds/paperwork.
